Bayer hit the bar
Boniface batters a shot against the crossbar. Is that it? That's surely it.

Laterkusen have won it!
Would you believe it!? Well, yes you would, this being Bayer Laterkusen. Incredibly, the visitors have taken the lead in injury time. Such a simple goal, with Frimpong pinging a fine cross in for Schick, who angles in a header from close range. The Leverkusen bench stream onto the field.

Leverkusen equalise!
Amazing! Bayer 04 are back on terms in one more late, late show special. Boniface moves into the box, pushes wide and lifts a cross into the middle. Stiller sticks out a leg and diverts the ball into the corner.

Undav wide
The Germany international has time in front of goal, yet can only curl a lazy effort wide of the far post.

Big miss!
Frimpong feeds Mukiele, who in turn cuts the ball back for Adli. The strike from Leverkusen's attacker is towards the near post and wide. That was a big, big opportunity for the Werkself, who are really piling on the pressure now.
79'
Boniface menace
Bayer 04 substitute Victor Boniface causes all sorts of problems in the Stuttgart box. He sends the ball into the area where Maximilian Mittelstädt chests the ball forward. Nübel then flicks clear.
77'
Schick misses
After a slew of changes, Patrik Schick moves slightly to the left before dragging a shot across the goal and wide. That was a touch tame from the Leverkusen forward.

Leverkusen's record in danger
Lest we forget, Bayer 04 have not lost away in the Bundesliga for 27 games on the road in a run dating back to May 2023. That record is very much under threat here.

Leverkusen still in it !
After a Leverkusen corner, the ball bobbles into the path of Hincapié and he thrashes a shot high into the net to bring the hosts to within a goal once more. Incredible.

Xhaka nightmare, VfB score again
Poor Granit Xhaka. Stuttgart pour forward once more after Leverkusen's failed attempt to move through midfield. Lukáš Hrádecký brilliantly saves Ermedin Demirović's shot from close range but the ball bounces against Xhaka and flies into the net.

Leverkusen back in it
Stuttgart can't clear their lines following a Leverkusen set-piece and the ball eventually falls to Robert Andrich, whose shot is deflected into the path off Frimpong. The full-back sweeps a finish under Nübel to reduce the arrears.

What a start to the second half for Stuttgart! The hosts break through Millot, who controls well on the left before feeding Woltemade, who has a lot of time to control and rifle in his team's second!

Nearly Stuttgart
This should probably be 2-0. Millot does brilliantly to make his way through on goal before his subsequent shot is stopped by Hrádecký. Stiller has a chance to slot home the loose ball, but Leverkusen block on the line.

Alonso worried?
The Leverkusen tactician is wearing a concerned expression as his side look a little short of matching Stuttgart for passion and commitment right now. Bayer 04 have lost their last three in all competitions and that Champions League exit to Bayern might be playing on visiting minds right now.

Hosts liven up
This is better from VfB, who work their way into the danger zone via Woltemade and Leweling. The move doesn't produce a chance, but the home fans are happy to see some energy from their side.

Stuttgart struggling
The hosts are having difficulty getting a foothold in this game, with the Werkself looking the much livelier with the ball. Patrik Schick gets himself into a decent position but the Czech can't control properly at the last moment.

Welcome to Stuttgart!
History on Bayer's side
Leverkusen are unbeaten against Stuttgart in their last 14 games, winning nine and drawing five. Stuttgart's last win came in the 2017/18 season, when Christian Gentner scored the only goal of the game at the BayArena. Jacob Bruun Larsen is the only player that remains from either squad that day.
Looking for form
With both sides still having plenty to play for, they'll be looking to today's game to provide the necessary boost that can help them rediscover their best form. Leverkusen are now nine points behind Bayern, while Stuttgart are five points off the Europa Conference league spot.

Out of sync
Stuttgart themselves are winless in four, losing two and drawing two of their recent games. They're still just two points off a UEFA Conference League spot, and five off from a Champions League spot, but will need to start collecting wins if they're to keep pace.
Leverkusen stumbling?
Xabi Alonso's men have lost three on the bounce in all competitions, with an aggregate score of 7-0. Losing has become a rarity for Die Werkself, and not scoring goals even more so. They'll be looking to get back into their stride against a tough Stuttgart side, who sit in eight place at the moment.
