OFFSIDE!

Mane has an open goal to aim for as Davies pings in a low cross, but he's offside as he toes wide. Blushes spared.

FAMILIAR FACES

Two former Bayern players join the action, with five minutes of normal time remaining. The visitors are in complete control.
78'

MAN DOWN

Bayern temporarily down to 10 men as Upamecano receives treatment after taking a stray arm from Rutter to the face.
77'

MUSIALA MAKES WAY

As does Gnabry. They were superb in the first half. Summer signings Mazraoui and Gravenberch are on.
76'

DABBUR INJURED

The Hoffenheim striker appears to have popped a shoulder. He put his hand up immediately. Bischof is on for only his second Bundesliga appearance.
71'

DENIED!

Hoffenheim break with Kramaric and Kaderabek. Rutter's waiting to pounce in the box, but Upamecano gets a crucial block in.
71'

SABITZER!

Mane works his magic for Bayern. He threads a ball into the box for Sabitzer, whose first-time shot is met by Baumann's outstretched boot.
70'

DOUBLE CHANGE

Like-for-like from Nagelsmann. Goretzka and Choupo-Moting have both worked their socks off.
69'

CHANCE!

Rutter beats De Ligt to Angelino's cross, the Hoffenheim forward heading narrowly past the upright. The hosts are not out of this yet!
62'

FRESH LEGS

Kramaric, who missed the Schalke win last week with an ankle problem, and right-wing-back Kaderabek are on for Hoffenheim. Mane enters the fray for Bayern, having started a game on the bench for the first time since joining the record champions.
61'

ACCIDENTAL...

... but dangerous. No intent from Kimmich, who accidentally stands on the outstretched leg of Baumgartner as the two jostle for possession.
58'

HALF CHANCE

Kimmich with the corner from the right. Upamecano beats De Ligt to it, but heads straight at Baumann.
55'

FIRST GEAR

Bayern aren't playing with the same level of intensity as in the first half, but you always feel they have another few gears in them...
46'

NO CHANGES

As you were at the start of the second half. Where's the next goal coming from?

BAYERN IN CONTROL

The defending champions have a deserved lead. They might have had more, but Ulreich's also come up with a couple of important saves.
44'

BIG SAVE!

Prömel sneaks in behind Davies, but Ulreich is out quickly and makes a crucial save. Hoffenheim won't get many chances like that!

CHOUPS STRIKES AGAIN!

The Bayern press is Hoffenheim's downfall. Kimmich forces the mistake and Goretzka feeds Choupo-Moting on the edge of the area. The Cameroonian plays it out wide for Gnabry and continues his run, before applying a fine finish in front of Kabak at the near post.

ROUGH AND READY

Pavard puts in a brilliantly timed sliding challenge on Prömel, after Kimmich had conceded possession in the Bayern half. Baumgartner's attempt to stop Goretzka in the ensuing passage of play is less refined. Deserved booking for the Hoffenheim midfielder.
32'

SIDE NETTING!

Musiala's at it again, collecting Coman's disguised pass into the box. He's in behind Akpoguma, but Baumann's out to narrow the angle. The eventual shot only finds the side netting, with red shirts waiting in the middle. The 18-year-old will learn from that.

MUSIALA THE MAN

Musiala's sixth goal of the season is the difference in Sinsheim. As things stand, Bayern are moving to within a point of leaders Union, who go to Bochum on Sunday.

ACCESS DENIED

Nsoki does really well to cut out Coman's attempted pass into the box. Gnabry had timed his run well, and would have had a free sight of goal, had that got through.
25'

RUTTER!

The young Hoffenheim forward stands up Upamecano in the box and fashions space to shoot at the near post. He strikes it cleanly, but Ulreich gets down well to block with his right foot.
23'

GNABRY!

The chances are coming thick and fast as Davies picks out the run of Gnabry. He takes it on the chest, before firing straight at Baumann.
21'

CHANCES!

Bayern cut through the Hoffenheim defence. Choupo-Moting squares for Goretzka in the box, whose first-time attempt is beaten away by Baumann. Akpoguma then heads Gnabry's follow-up header off the line, before Coman sweeps the loose ball into the arms of the goalkeeper. This could get ugly for the home side...

BAYERN LEAD!

Hoffenheim's resistance is broken. Goretzka gets his head to a Kimmich corner. It's not on target, but it does find Musiala unmarked at the back post. The teenager has all the time in the world to bring the ball under wraps, and tuck a tidy finish into the top corner.

BIG CHANCE!

Musiala teases the Hoffenheim defence, before sliding a pass across the six-yard box. Gnabry tries to touch it home, but doesn't make the desired connection. Had he left it, Coman would have had a tap-in.
11'

CHOUPO-MOTING!

The veteran striker connects with Gnabry's cross with a shot on the turn, but it's straight at Baumann. He has three goals in two games, and will be happy to take on anything from anywhere...
8'

STRONG START

Hoffenheim are hounding the Bayern players whenever they're in possession. Breitenreiter will be happy with his team's start.
3'

SAVE!

Bayern's first attack almost produces the opening goal as Gnabry beats his man in the box and feeds Kimmich to his right. He drives in a low shot from a tight angle, but Baumann gets down well to block.
2'

BLUE SWARM

Angelino does really well to win a corner off Pavard. It comes to nothing, but Hoffenheim retain possession. Confident start from the boys in blue.

HOFFENHEIM KICK-OFF

The hosts can go above Bayern with a win. Can they spring a surprise in this Bundesliga season of surprises?
Kick-off!

HOFFENHEIM TEAM NEWS

Andre Breitenreiter named a couple of unchanged teams for the back-to-back wins against Schalke in the Bundesliga and in the DFB cup, but the coach is forced into one switch today. With Kevin Vogt suspended, Kevin Akpoguma has been brought into the side.

BAYERN TEAM NEWS

The visitors show just one change to the side that started the midweek DFB Cup victory in Augsburg with Kingsley Coman in for Sadio Mane, who drops to the bench.

TSG: CROSS SPECIALISTS

Hoffenheim have scored a league high five times from crosses and that may be key in terms of today's hosts' attempts to upset their visitors. Munas Dabbur is the home side's leading scorer with four goals while his expected strike partner today, Georginio Rutter, has two assists.

FREE-SCORING VISITORS

Bayern hit Freiburg for five last weekend and the reigning champs go into today's match as the division's leading scorers with 30 goals. As many as 13 Bayern players have scored for the Bavarians so far this term, with Musiala, Mane and Sane leading the way on five goals apiece.

NAGELSMANN RETURNS

As mentioned, Bayern's coach Nagelsmann is back to where he made his name as a Bundesliga coach. The visiting tactician is thus looking forward to, "A special game." "They're a club close to my heart, I spent nine very nice years there," Nagelsmann said of the Sinsheimers. On today's game, the tactician noted: "They're always demanding games. [Hoffenheim] are a team who play out from the back with a lot of courage. Pressing isn't that easy. You need to be extremely sharp."

TALE OF THE TAPE

Of the 28 top-flight matches between today's protagonists, Bayern have won 18. Hosts Hoffenheim have won three of the last six meetings in their own backyard, however.

"INSPIRING FOOTBALL"

Here's what Hoffenheim coach Andre Breitenreiter had to say in the build up to today's enticing Bundesliga encounter: "This match will show how far along we are. [Bayern] will certainly draw our attention to things we still need to work on. We want to play inspiring football and be successful in front of a sold-out stadium."

LOOK WHO'S BACK...

Julian Nagelsmann returns to where it all began when Bayern travel to Hoffenheim's PreZero Arena. He enjoyed an historic stint in charge of the Sinsheim club, overseeing 136 matches between February 2016 and June 2019, before joining Bayern, via a successful spell at RB Leipzig. The Sinsheimers - who peaked with a third-placed finish under Nagelsmann in 2017/18 - begin the weekend in fourth place, only two points behind the second-in-the-table defending champions. What better test of their top-four credentials...
