ASCACIBAR DENIES

Herrmann with a cross into the six-yard box this time. Ascacibar prods behind for a corner that comes to nothing.
84'

SIDE NETTING!

Gladbach shift the ball from left to right. Herrmann races into the box, but can only find the side netting with his first-time strike from a tight angle.
80'

LIKE-FOR-LIKE

Serdar's run his socks off in the engine room for Hertha. Tousart's on in his place. Further back, Gechter replaces young Dardai. Dardai senior is not taking any risks as fatigue begins to set in...
77'

TICKING OFF

Scally collects the second booking of his Bundesliga career, after catching Pekarik.
76'

SUBS

Piatek's put in another good shift - he looks to be back in favour under Dardai. Selke's on for the hosts, while Herrmann will look to exploit his pace in the Kone role.
71'

DISALLOWED GOAL

Schwolow gets down to block Zakaria's low drive, with Plea firing in the follow-up. The whistle sounds, though, for an offside against Zakaria.
68'

SERDAR THREAT

Serdar springs to life running from deep and exchanging passes with Piatek. He runs onto his teammate's lay-off, but Bensebaini swipes the ball into touch before the Hertha midfielder can make a connection in the box.
67'

PLEA HAS A GO

Plea drives into the Hertha box, but his shot is too close to Schwolow. The Frenchman has certainly given Gladbach a lift since joining the action at the start of the second half. Can he spark them into life with a goal? They're looking a little flat right now...
61'

HERTHA CHANGES

Ekkelenkamp has only played 153 Bundesliga minutes so far, but he's already scored two to become Hertha's leading scorer. Can he add a third to his tally? The Dutchman's on for Darida, while Maolida taks the place of goalscorer Richter.
54'

MANHANDLED

Pekarik escapes with just a talking to after going in a touch overzealously on Kone. Darida doesn't - he just dragged Zakaria to the ground by his coat-tails.
49'

CHANCE!

Plea is first to Hofmann's near-post corner, but his glancing header sails across goal and wide. Someone needed to attack that! Hertha were all at sea.
47'

DOUBLE CHANGE

Adi Hütter rolls the dice at the start of the second half. Former Hertha youngster Luca Netz and Gladbach captain Lars Stindl make away for Florian Neuhaus and Alassane Plea.

HALF-TIME: HERTHA 1-0 GLADBACH

Hertha with a lead they barely deserve. Gladbach have carried the far greater threat, but haven't been able to make a handful of chances count. Unlike the hosts, who took full advantage of their first real opening and almost added another with their second.

SOMMER TO THE RESCUE!

Almost a second Hertha goal on the stroke of half-time as Sommer dives to his left to claw away Dardai's header from Plattenhardt's in-swinging free-kick. Samsh-and-grab stuff, here.
41'

HERTHA LEAD!

The Old Lady break the deadlock! Piatek wins a long throw into the box, helping it on to Richter. He connects with a scissor-kick, striking the bal into the ground and over Sommer for an unlikely opening goal.

ELVEDI AGAIN!

Hofmann sends a corner towards the near post, where Elvedi rises above his marker to send a header just wide. So close for Gladbach!

EMBOL-NO!

Brilliant one-touch stuff from Gladbach, started by Scally at right wing-back. Hertha can't keep up as Embolo exchanges passes with Lars Stindl and continues his run into the box, before ballooning over under pressure from a Berlin shirt. He had to hit the target, and he knows it!

GLADBACH IN CONTROL

The visitors have locked down possession at the Olympic Stadium. Almost all the play is centered in Hertha's half. The hosts just can't get out.

PENALTY SHOUT

Joe Scally goes to ground in the box under Maxi Mittelstädt's challenge. There's a lengthy wait before the referee goes to review the incident. No penalty - good decision!

DARDAI TALKS WORK ETHIC

Pal Dardai says Hertha need to be fully switched on aganst Gladbach. "We’ve worked hard these past couple of weeks. The lads have learnt that we need to be disciplined, but also need to push ourselves at the same time," he said. "It’s crucial that we work hard off the ball, but that we also get players forward in attack. In addition, we need to be attentive at set-pieces."

HÜTTER ASKS FOR MORE OF THE SAME

Gladbach coach Adi Hütter feels there was more in the Stuttgart draw, and wants his team to make amends in the capital. "We want to try and win back the points we dropped against Stuttgart," he explained. "We also want to play like we have done in the past few weeks and play with some energy."
