LOOKING FOR A SPARK

The game has opened up here and Fürth are looking for a spark in their attack. At the moment, they're not being careful enough with the ball and Hertha are winning possession back too often for Fürth to mount a real attack.

BIG MOOD IN BERLIN!

The home side are heading for back-to-back wins over the two promoted Bundesliga 2 sides...
82'

LATE CHANGE

Leweling comes on in attack, replacing Dudziak on the left.
79'

HERTHA IN FRONT!

The Old Lady have turned this game around in the second half and it's an own-goal from Bauer which has them ahead for the first time. A corner is cleared out to Richter on the right and he curls in a fine cross which Bauer miscues with his attempted clearance, with the ball rolling home off his left foot.

A yellow card for the substitute as he kicks the ball away after Fürth conceded a free-kick.

ALMOST FOR RICHTER

A tidy one-two between Richter and Ekkelenkamp sends the most recent substitute into the Fürth area. He has to control the ball in the air while moving past a defender and goes for a volleyed shot at goal, but he sends it high and beyond the goal.
camera-photo

INTO THE FINAL 20...

Ekkelenkamp got the goal - Hertha's first direct from a corner for 44 Bundesliga games - to set up an exciting final 20 minutes.
68'

FINAL CHANGE

Hertha's fifth change comes with over 20 minutes to play as Richter comes on for Maolida.
67'

MAOLIDA DOWN

Looks like a hamstring issue for the Frenchman, and he's signalling that he's having to come off.
64'

DOUBLE CHANGE!

Leitl responds to that equaliser for Fürth with Abiama and Barry on for Itten and Willems.
61'

DEBUT GOAL FOR EKKELENKAMP!

Just a minute after coming on, the Dutchman has his first goal for the club. What a debut and what an introduction. A corner swings in from the right from the left foot of Dardai, and Ekkelenkamp rises highest to meet it in front of goal with a powerful header.
60'

DOUBLE CHANGE

Selke is on for Belfodil and there's a Bundesliga debut for Ekkelenkamp, the late summer window signing from Ajax.

HRGOTA FROM THE SPOT!

A second goal of the season for Fürth's captain, and both have come from the penalty spot.
57'

HRGOTA SPOT ON!

Fürth's captain puts his side into the lead early in the second half. Hrgota with his second goal of the campaign as he fires his penalty down the middle with Schwolow diving to his right.

56'

FÜRTH PENALTY!

The away side have won a spot-kick after Zeefuik brings down Dudziak with an attempted clearance. It has been checked and is confirmed.
55'

BELFODIL HAS A GO!

A first shot on target for Hertha, as Belfodil races forward down the left and cuts inside to shoot from the corner of the Fürth area. His effort is straight at Burchert though.
camera-photo

HERTHA ON THE CHARGE

Almost the entirety of this second half so far has been spent in the Fürth half, but the home side have failed to make the most of their early pressure so far.
51'

NIELSEN BOOKED

A first card of the evening for a Fürth player, with Nielsen cautioned by referee Tobias Stieler in midfield.
50'

WILLEMS FIRES OVER!

A good chance for the Fürth left-back again as he makes a fine run forward inside of Dudziak, who finds him with a neat pass. He goes for goal despite defenders in his way, and his right-footed strike loops just over the crossbar.
48'

TIDY START

Hertha have made a bright start to this second half, with Zeefuik and Serdar combining well down the right, but no shot on goal comes from his cut-back. The hosts dominating possession in these early minutes here and looking to get forward with intent.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY!

A half-time change for Hertha with Jastrzembski coming on for Plattenhardt on the left for Hertha.

ADDED TIME

We'll have two minutes of time added on at the end of this first half.

BOATENG BOOKED

A first yellow card of the game goes the way of Boateng for a foul in midfield.
42'

SCRAMBLE!

A free-kick into the Hertha area from the right causes panic in the Hertha defence. The ball drops right in front of goal with Viergever getting a shot away, but his effort is blocked. The ball comes down for another hit at goal but Schwolow is on hand to make the save.
40'

ALMOST FOR MAOLIDA!

Hertha counter superbly down the right with Zeefuik found in acres of space. He fires over a cross from the right which goes beyond Serdar and Belfodil in the middle and then Maolida puts the ball wide of goal sliding in at the back post. Another half-chance goes begging for the hosts.
37'

ALL DOWN THE LEFT

Hertha have had 60% of their attacks come down the left flank so far, with Plattenhardt getting up and down the pitch well.

IT'S BEEN A BATTLE!

35'

FÜRTH WORKING HARD

It's been a real midfield battle so far with neither side clicking into gear in attack, and Fürth's players are running hardest.

HERTHA STRUGGLES

The home side are having trouble connecting midfield and attack here, with Serdar looking to do most of the work on his own thus far. We've seen little of Belfodil or Maolida, which is a credit to the Fürth defence as well.

EARLY CHANGE

Boyata can't continue and it's 17-year-old Gechter coming on for his second Bundesliga appearance, the captain of Germany's U18 team.
26'

BOYATA DOWN

The Hertha captain has gone down here in pain off the ball. It looks like it's something in his right leg, and this would be a huge blow to the home side who already have several defensive absentees. He's limping off.
24'

FÜRTH ON THE BALL

The away side are enjoying possession here, and constantly looking for long balls into Itten and Hrgota in attack to then link up with the midfield coming up the field. So far, though, Hertha have handled what they have thrown at them.
21'

BOATENG STARTING WELL

The 34-year-old has won the most duels of any player, and has the best passing efficiency of any Hertha player so far.

DUDZIAK DOWN

Fürth's left midfielder is down after taking a knock from his own man, Willems, with a knee to the head. He looks as if he will be able to continue.
17'

HUGE CHANCE FOR SERDAR!

He scored twice last weekend, and should have at least hit the target here with the game's first big chance. Serdar picks up the ball in midfield and coasts forward past three or four Fürth defenders chasing him. He moves onto his right as he reaches the Fürth area and curls a shot for the far corner, but it goes inches wide beyond the post. That one looked destined for the bottom corner.
15'

TOUSART SHOT BLOCKED!

Hertha break well with Maolida played into the Fürth area down the left. He cuts the ball back into the middle with Tousart found in front of goal, but the Frenchman's shot from around 15 yards is well-blocked by the visiting defence.
camera-photo

DEFENDING TO DO FOR HERTHA

We're still looking for our first chance on goal, but Fürth have looked the most likely to create it here.
12'

SLOPPY START

Some unforced errors in possession are hindering Hertha so far, and not allowing Dardai's side to find their flow in these early stages. Boateng is looking to calm his teammates down from his deep midfield role.
8'

LOOKING COMFORTABLE

Fürth aren't being pressed by the Hertha frontline and have time to pick out passes up the pitch, with Hrgota again providing problems for the home side's defence, as well as Itten. A solid start for Fürth, who look comfortable already here.
5'

OPEN START

Hertha have had most of the ball in the opening five minutes, but Fürth have been pushing forward quickly when they've won it back with Hrgota providing an outlet in attack.
2'

WILLEMS FIRES WIDE

The first shot on goal of the game comes from the away side as Jetro Willems fires for goal from all of 30 yards out, and his effort doesn't trouble Schwolow in the hosts' goal.

HERE WE GO!

The ball is rolling in the German capital for this very first Bundesliga meeting between Hertha and Fürth...
Kick-off!

TALE OF THE TAPE!

Fürth sit bottom of the table in the Bundesliga through four games of the season, with Hertha just two places above them in 16 with two more points to their name. It's not been the start either side was hoping for, which is why both will be so keen to get all three points tonight.

GREEN WAITING ON THE BENCH

Green is set to make his 10th Bundesliga appearance tonight, almost seven years to the day since his first. He'll have to do it from the bench this evening, though, as the USMNT midfielder drops to the bench to start this evening.

A FIRST IN THE BUNDESLIGA!

This is the first time that Hertha and Fürth have met in the Bundesliga, becoming the 933rd different meeting between teams in the German top-flight.
