FULL-TIME! DORTMUND 1-0 BIELEFELD

Dortmund huff and puff, but see the win over the line. The gap to leaders Bayern is now seven points, with a game in hand against Mainz to come on Wednesday. Arminia stay two points above the relegation play-off spot.

KLOS HEADER!

Ince looks like a real talent as he races away and wins a corner. Klos gets his head to the delivery, but can't muster the power to trouble Kobel.
90'
+ 2

NO PENALTY

Ince goes down under Can's challenge, but the Dortmund man clearly wins the ball, poking it clear on the stretch.

BRANDT!

Into the box at pace... from a tight angle... but Ortega gets down well to make the save. Into the first of four added minutes, with Arminia very much in the game...

BIELEFELD HISTORY

Burak Ince is on for the visitors. Aged 18 years and 52 days, he's Arminia's youngest ever Bundesliga debutant.

HALF CHANCE!

Klos towers above Can to flick on a long ball into the box. Okugawa is onto it, but Pongracic does just enough to put him off, and Kobel is able to gather.
86'

MADE IN THE USA

Maloney with the cross... Reyna with the header... no trouble for Ortega. An American assist and goal - that might well have been a Bundesliga first.
85'

MALONEY THROWN ON

Lennard Maloney, who was promoted the first team earlier this week, is on for his second Bundesliga appearance. His first was also against Arminia.
82'

REYNA!

Almost a second Dortmund goal as Brandt finds Haaland in the box. He helps it on to Reyna to his left, but the angle's tight and the American can't land his chipped attempt on target.
81'

CHANCE!

Lasme, with his back to goal in the six-yard box, pokes the ball back to Okugawa. He swipes goalwards, but Passlack slides in to make a crucial block.

TALE OF THE TAPE

information
xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
Dortmund should have more to show for their efforts in attack, but they haven't quite been at the races in what's been a disjointed display. Will Haaland show his teammates how it's done to put an end to Arminia's hopes of getting something from the game?

HAALAND AND REYNA ON

This will give the place a lift: top scorer Haaland and US international Reyna are on for Malen and Hazard respectively.
61'

CAN LUCKY

Can brings down Hack, down by the by-line. Already on a booking, he knows he could be in trouble, but the referee gives him the benefit of the doubt. The Dortmund man is surely in the last chance saloon...
60'

BLOCKED!

Wolf goes into the area, but Andrade holds his ground and prevents the shot. The goalscorer is able to find Hazard to his left, though... blocked!
57'

HACK!

Bielefeld respond through Hack, who stings the palms of Kobel from range. The Dortmund stopper almost let it wriggle free, before gobbling the ball up at the second time of asking.
56'

BELLINGHAM!

Better from Dortmund as Bellingham takes on the Arminia defence. He fashions an opening from 18 yards, but sends his left-footed strike wide.
52'

BIELEFELD IN CHARGE

Dortmund have made a slow start to the second half. Lasme is causing the home defence all manner of problems with his pace.
47'

YELLOW PERIL

Can catches Lasme as the Arminia forward threatened to run clear into the area... just a caution. Free-kick to come, in a very dangerous position...

HERE WE GO AGAIN

Dortmund need these points, if they're to keep the title race alive. Will be see Haaland in the second half?

HALF-TIME! DORTMUND 1-0 ARMINIA

Wolf's goal is the difference at the break, but Bielefeld have acquitted themselves very well and will be quietly confident they can get at this BVB defence.

BELLO AGAIN

Bello with Alphonso Davies-esque powers of recovery to force Hazard wide and deny him a clear goalscoring opportunity. If he gets that wrong, it's either a goal or penalty.

THE DECISIVE MOMENT

42'

ALWAYS RISING

Dortmund shift the ball from left to right, with Hazard doing really well to dig out a pass to Wolf on the edge of the area. The goalscorer thinks about returning the favour, before firing a rising drive over the crossbar.
40'

MALEN STRIKE!

Quick feet from Malen takes him away from a number of Arminia shirts. The Dutchman takes aim from 20 yards, but it sails over.
38'

BRILLIANT BELLO

Passlack escapes the attentions of Bello, deep in Arminia territory. He drives into the box, but Bielefeld's American left-back races back to make a sublime recovery challenge.
32'

PENALTY DECISION OVERTURNED

Bellingham's effort is deflected into the path of Wolf, but he's denied by Ortega. Malen goes to ground in the ensung melee, before the referee indicates a penalty for a handball against Hack. It looks to be a harsh decision - the ball bounced off this foot onto his right hand - and it's duly overturned upon VAR review.

NAY, JUDE

Bellingham scored a stunning individual goal in the reverse fixture, but the English teen's radar is off here. He bends harmlessly wide from 18 yards.
21'

WOLF BITES!

The Dortmund fans are in raptures! A free-kick is picked up by Bellingham, who chips a pass out wide to the unmarked Hazard. The Belgian's cross is pretty decent, too - right onto the boot of Wolf, who can't miss from a central position.

OKUGAWA!

Bielefeld are finding joy against this depleted Dortmund defence. Lasme threads a ball to Okugawa, who stings the palms of Kobel from 12 yards out. Lasme's first to the ensuing corner, but his header is too close to the keeper. Only one recognised centre-back in this BVB defence - it shows...
8'

DENIED!

Almost the game's first goal. Passlack clips a ball into the box for Wolf. He manages to help it back to Malen, whose goalbound strike deflects off Pieper and onto the outside of the left-hand post.
5'

BREAKAWAY

Arminia get men behind the ball as first Malen and then Bellingham try to work an opening in the Bielefeld box. The visitors break with Wimmer, who nutmegs Pongracic and slips a ball into the box for Lasme, but his cross has too much on it. He was offside, anyway.
2'

POSITIVE START

Encouraging from covid-hit Arminia. They go straight on the attack. Brunner swings over a cross that bounces awkwardly in the six-yard box, before Passlack hoofs clear.

STOP WAR

The teams come together to hold a banner that reads 'Stop war', in support of the people of Ukraine.

WATCH: AUGSBURG 1-1 DORTMUND

Thorgan Hazard opened the scoring, but Dortmund were pegged back in Augsburg last weekend.

YELLOW WALL

Up to 33,000 fans will be in attendance in Dortmund. Head coach Marco Rose is hopeful the 12th man can give BVB a welcome boost down the back straight. "The fans have always pushed us," he said. "That's what I'd like to see from Sunday onwards, so that we can push together at the end of the season. Hopefully they'll see players they can identify with."

TEAM NEWS - DORTMUND

Erling Haaland returns to the Dortmund squad, but Marco Reus, Mats Hummels, Raphael Guerreiro and Manuel Akanji are all out. Felix Passlack, Nico Schulz and Marius Wolf come in, while Julian Brandt drops to the bench.

TEAM NEWS - BIELEFELD

The good news for the visitors is that their chief creative players in Okugawa and Wimmer are both fit to start, having each been substituted off last weekend and rated as doubtful during the week. US international George Bello is set to make his starting debut, after four substitute appearances, coming in for the absent Joakim Nilsson in defence. Meanwhile, up front Bryan Lasme is preferred to Fabian Klos.

FORM - BIELEFELD

The visitors come into the game on the back of a two-game losing run following defeats to Augsburg and Leverkusen. Bielefeld have taken just four of the last 15 points available, hence their slide down to 15th, but they can take heart from their respectable away form this season (W3 D3 L6). Their most recent success on the road came in Frankfurt on Matchday 20.

HAALAND TO START?

The Norwegian hasn't played in the Bundesliga since 22 January due to injury, but head coach Marco Rose has indicated that he could return today, alongside Gio Reyna, who has been sidelined for the past two weeks. While that duo may not be fit enough to start, their returns to the squad are welcome and timely, especially as BVB will definitely be without captain Marco Reus due to illness. Manuel Akanji (calf), Raphael Guerreiro (not included), Thomas Meunier (muscular) and Dan-Axel Zagadou (thigh) are also all absent today.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This will be the 38th time these teams have faced off in the Bundesliga. Dortmund have won 17 of those, including each of the last four. There have been eight draws and 12 victories for Bielefeld, but you have to go all the way back to March 2007 for the last time DSC came away with the points.

WATCH: PREVIOUS MEETING: BIELEFELD 1-3 DORTMUND

BVB eased to a 3-0 triumph the last time these teams met, on Matchday 9 back in October. Ere Can opened the scoring with a penalty, before further goals from Mats Hummels and Jude Bellingham put the outcome beyond all doubt. Fabian Klos scored a late consolation from the penalty spot for the home side.

FOUR SUNDAY GAMES

Usually there are only two Sunday fixtures on any given Bundesliga matchday, but when the schedule was finalised there was a chance that Dortmund, Leverkusen, Leipzig and Frankfurt would all be participating in the Europa League round of 16. As those games take place on Thursdays, the DFL moved the fixtures involving those teams to today in order to give them the necessary recovery time.

THE STAKES

Given that league leaders Bayern Munich have drawn their last two Bundesliga games 1-1, this fixture represents an opportunity for Dortmund to close the gap at the top to seven points, a deficit BVB could reduce even further to four points if they win their game in hand. Bielefeld, meanwhile, are at the opposite end of the standings, just two points above VfB Stuttgart in the relegation play-off place. Following Gladbach's win yesterday, Frank Kramer's side could do with a victory of their own if they are to pull further clear of the bottom three.
