ADDED TIME!

We're now into four minutes of added time in Leverkusen.
88'

END-TO-END STUFF

Leverkusen are by no means sitting on what they have as the home side continue to push on in search of a third goal here. While Schalke are of course going in search of an equalising goal.

KABAK DENIES AMIRI

The substitute is in on goal with options to his right as he closes on goal, but Kabak produces a world-class tackle to block his shot and push the ball away from him. Outstanding defending.
82'

SCHALKE BACK IN IT!

And with a lovely goal. Harit's outstanding through ball finds Kutucu down the right side of the box and he puts the ball across goal. It makes its way all the way through to the back post where Raman is all alone to tap home. Game on again in these final 10 minutes or so!

ALARIOOOO!

It's two for Leverkusen and two for Alario. Amiri's ball through to Aranguiz is perfect as he reaches the byline in the Schalke box and spots Alario in front of goal. He plays him the ball and it's a simple tap home for Alario.

AMIRI HAS A GO

The German youngster's shot from distance forces a save from Nübel, and his defence clears as he could only parry the ball back out into play. Leverkusen doing what Schalke want to do: take shots at goal.
75'

SCHALKE STRUGGLING FOR SHOTS

As stated in the previous update, Schalke are having the better of things but struggling to get the attack going. Just one shot on goal in the second half from the away side so far.
70'

SCHALKE HAVING THE BETTER OF THINGS

It's still very much that same midfield battle that we had in the first half, but Schalke have had more of the possession and are pushing it forward more and more. Hradecky hasn't been tested as much as David Wagner would like, but perhaps that will change with Ahmed Kutucu now on the pitch.
63'

LEVERKUSEN COUNTER

We saw it work wonders in Munich last week and the home side are trying it again here. Havertz brings the ball into the Schalke half from his own penalty area before playing it to Diaby on the left. The substitute produces another burst of space to create space for a shot, but Nübel is equal to it at his near post.
57'

BIG CHANCE FOR SCHALKE

Great build-up from Schalke with Harit playing the ball out wide to Kenny who whips in a great cross to the playmaker in the box. His header is poor but it falls to Raman who attempts to turn and shoot, but the ball runs loose from his possession.
50'

GOOO... NO!

Schalke have the ball in the Leverkusen net through Raman, but he's offside as Oczipka plays the ball through to him in the box. VAR confirms that the Belgian was offside.

HARIT DOWN

The Schalke playmaker is taking treatment after a big challenge from Wendell. He'll obviously hope to be able to continue until at least half-time.
41'

ALARIO FLUFFS HIS LINES

The Argentine collects the ball in front of goal on the penalty spot but can't quite conjure a shot at goal with Nübel in his face. He turns and turns but sees his shot blocked in the end. A big chance had he been able to get the ball out of his feet in quicker fashion.
37'

HAVERTZ HAS A GO

The German international turns a defender 35 yards from goal and decides to take a shot at goal with space in front of him. It's drifting away from goal and eventually just a few inches wide, but it certainly had Nübel worried.
36'

BACK TO A BATTLE

Chances have been few and far between in this game so far. Besides Alario's goal and Raman's break into the Leverkusen box it's very much been a midfield battle. Havertz's return has made a real impact so far and he looks to be loving life back out on the pitch.
26'

FIRST CHANCE FOR SCHALKE

Raman is in on goal with only Hradecky to beat as he latches onto a ball in the Leverkusen box. He goes for goal with a poke of his left foot, but the Leverkusen shot-stopper does his job.
19'

BAILEY SCO... NO!

Leverkusen think they have a second through Leon Bailey, but the Jamaican is in an offside position when he scores. It came after Havertz's shot was blocked up into the air in the box and Nübel left stranded as Bailey waited for gravity to bring it down to him.
17'

BELLARABI FORCES A SAVE

It's all Leverkusen right now and Havertz is at the heart of it. He collects possession and pushes on to the edge of the Schalke box before playing the ball wide to Bellarabi. He takes a touch to control in the box and fires at goal, but Nübel stays big to parry it away.
15'

AS EASY AS THAT!

Bailey's corner swings into the box which is packed with attackers and defenders surrounding Nübel, making life difficult for the Schalke goalkeeper. The ball avoids the crowd and drifts to the back post where Lucas Alario has peeled away and he nods home into an empty net with ease. His third goal of the season to hand Leverkusen the lead.

PROPER MIDFIELD BATTLE

Both sides have started brightly and - as expected - are pushing the ball forward whenever possible. But the main battle so far has been in midfield with challenges flying in and neither side able to breakthrough what are two defensivly-stable outfits.

THAT NEW PITCH FEEL

It looks as if the groundskeepers at the BayArena have been hard at work with some new grass on the pitch. Certainly a different look to previous weeks, and hopefully providing the platform for some slick football this evening.
2'

OPENING CHANCE

Bailey intercepts Kabak's pass in defence and races towards the Schalke goal. He hands off possession to Havertz on the edge, and he dinks a ball to the back post with Bellarabi staying onside with his run to meet it. He volleys at goal, but it goes over the crossbar with the first attempt of the game.

UNDERWAY IN LEVERKUSEN

The Saturday evening game is underway with Schalke in town at Bayer Leverkusen. Let the fun begin...
Kick-off!

KICK-OFF COMING UP

Big atmosphere at a sold out BayArena this evening with Schalke in town. Two in-form teams go head-to-head with attacking football the order of the day.

TIGHT AT THE TOP

The results of today's games so far mean that both Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen have even more to play for this evening. A win for the home side will see them climb above Bayern Munich into sixth, while three points for Schalke would see them go ahead of arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund into third.

CRAZY DAY SO FAR

In case you haven't seen, it's been one of those days in the Bundesliga. Borussia Mönchengladbach stayed top of the table with an injury-time game-winning penalty against Bayern Munich, while RB Leipzig beat Hoffenheim to stay close on their tail. Borussia Dortmund put five past Fortuna Düsseldorf and there were dramatic wins for Freiburg and Augsburg.

MCKENNIE IN DEFENCE

The USMNT star is back in the middle of the Schalke defence with Matija Nastasic ruled out with his recurring knee injury. It looks like they will stick with a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Guido Burgstaller recalled to lead the line with Benito Raman moved out wide.

HAVERTZ RETURNS

King Kai is back for Leverkusen after a couple of weeks on the sidelines. He returns to play as the No.10, with Lucas Alario leading the line and Kevin Volland surprisingly only on the bench for Peter Bosz tonight. Leon Bailey and Karim Bellarabi are also in the attack, while Aleksandar Dragovic starts in defence with Jonathan Tah suspended.
