HARIT WINS IT AT THE DEATH!

A special player can produce special moments to win games, and that's what Amine Harit did for Schalke. He made the most of Reece Oxford's mistake before racing through the Augsburg defence to take the game, and all three points, home for himself. It was a thriller throughout with the lead changing hands a number of times, but in the end, Schalke join the 18-point crew around the top.

GREGORITSCH HEADS OVER...

That may well have been the final chance as Vargas' cross is met by Gregoritsch, but the substitute can only head the ball over the Schalke crossbar.

Will we see more late drama here?

HARIT REACHING NEW LEVELS

Amine Harit has now scored five goals in the Bundesliga this season. In his previous two seasons in the German top flight he has only scored a high of four.
82'

OH HARIT, WHAT A GOAL!

It's a stunning solo effort from the Schalke star. He collects the ball 30 yards from goal after a mistake from Oxford and runs at Jedvaj, sending him one way and then the other before the Augsburg defender falls to the ground. He rounds him before clipping the ball over Koubek and into the net. A stunning effort which could just be our winner...

CAN WE FIND A WINNER?

A goal in each half for both sides so far and we still have time to find a winner here. It's Schalke who are on top at the moment, pegging the Augsburg defence back with their high-pressing style.
71'

KABAK SCORES HIS FIRST!

The defender is up the pitch and meets Caligiuri's set-piece perfectly, heading the ball towards the far post and beyond the reach of Koubek. We're level once again in this end-to-end game.

OXFORD ON IN MIDFIELD

The Englishman is back after missing the last couple of games through injury and he immediately goes just in front of the Augsburg defence where he will sit as a holding midfielder.
64'

KENNY ALMOST...

Caligiuri plays a lovely pass through for the overlapping Kenny, who looks up into the box and plays a low cross into the middle. Uth is looking to get on the end of it, but the Augsburg defence is able to clear from just ahead of him.
62'

FINNBO PERFECT FROM THE SPOT

The Augsburg striker has scored all nine of his Bundesliga penalties so far, another today.
60'

FINNBOGASON FROM THE SPOT!

The Ice-man stays ice cool from the spot, sending Nübel the wrong way for his second goal of the season to restore Augsburg's lead here on the hour mark.
58'

AUGSBURG PENALTY!

Oczipka handles the ball in the box and VAR checks it before awarding the penalty.

SCHALKE PRESSING HIGH

The Royal Blues are doing everything to win the ball back high up the pitch here, pressing their opponents as soon as they get possession. So far, Augsburg have been able to handle it in this second half.
50'

OCZIPKA SHOOTS...

The full-back cuts inside from the left, onto his right foot and shoots at goal. Koubek fumbles the first attempt but is able to gather the second.

SCHALKE BATTLING WITHOUT SANE

You can see that the loss of Salif Sane did Schalke no good whatsoever, with Weston McKennie dropping in as an unorthodox centre-back. His job has not been easy, but it was a touch of class from Daniel Baier alone which gave the home side what was a deserved lead. David Wagner will be delighted to be level at the break with that late own-goal.

SCHALKE LEVEL!

Daniel Caligiuri curls in a free-kick from the left wing and Suat Serdar is challenging for it, but it comes off the head of Lichtsteiner as he attempted to clear the ball and it glides past Koubek and into his own net.

BAIER LOVES ROYAL BLUE

Daniel Baier has scored just six Bundesliga goals in his career, but each of his last three have come against Schalke. Just something about Royal Blues makes the veteran midfielder want to go for goal.
40'

KABAK HEADS OVER

A lofted cross to the back post finds the head of Kabak, but he can't aim it on target with the ball looping over the Augsburg crossbar.
38'

BAIER FIRES AUGSBURG AHEAD!

And it's a goal with a touch of class about it, as you'd expect from the midfielder. Finnbogason does well to get past McKennie on the right wing before playing the ball intended for Richter on the edge. The German gets a touch on the ball which sends it to Baier, who gently curls a lobbed shot into the far top corner giving Nübel no chance.

ACROBATIC EFFORT!

A lovely backheel from Vargas sends Lichsteiner away down the right and he crosses into the box where Niederlechner is placed, and he goes for an overhead-kick, but can't connect properly
34'

AUGSBURG DEFENCE DOING IT'S JOB

Uth and Raman are both either moving wide or dropping deep and it's proving difficult for Schalke to get in behind the Augsburg defence right now. Lichtsteiner and Max are being worked hard at full-back, but they're doing their jobs well so far.
28'

NÜBEL STOPS NIEDERLECHNER

McKennie is caught out of position by a chipped ball over his head which Niederlechner controls perfectly in the box with his first touch. His second touch is a shot at goal, but Nübel stays big to parry the ball away with a fantastic save off his head.
20'

SCHALKE SEARCHING FOR THEIR WAY

The Royal Blues have had most of the possession so far in this game with half chances coming and going for Raman and Uth, and they have begun to take control since Sane's injury.
13'

MCKENNIE AT CENTRE-BACK

The USMNT star is adding another position to his tally as he now partners Ozan Kabak in the centre of the Schalke defence now.
10'

LENGTHY DELAY

We'll make up that time before the break after obvious precautions were taking with Sane. The defender went down after clashing his left knee with that of an Augsburg forward and immediately went to the floor. We hope he's back on the pitch very soon!
5'

SANE DOWN AND OUT...

A huge blow for the Schalke defence here with Salif Sane being forced off on a stretcher in the early minutes. This coming just a few days after Stambouli had been ruled out through injury as well.
4'

LOVELY FROM RICHTER...

The 21-year-old turns beautifully on the edge of the Schalke box and curls a shot at goal with his left foot, but it bounces just wide beyond Nübel's goal with the shot-stopper at full stretch...
4'

VARGAS SHOT BLOCKED

The home side have started well here and get their first shot on goal, but it's blocked by the Schalke defence. Finnbogason collected possession in the middle of Schalke's box but decides to lay the ball off to Vargas rather than shoot.

UNDERWAY FOR THE FINAL GAME

Our final game of Matchday 10 is underway in Bavaria...
Kick-off!

INCENTIVE FOR SCHALKE

The away side this evening can stay amongst the huge pack chasing for the top spots in the table if they get all three points tonight. A win would take them level with Leipzig, Bayern and Freiburg on 18 points. Depending on how many goals they score, they could even leapfrog Bayern and finish the weekend in fourth place.

AUGSBURG UNCHANGED

For the first time since November 2018, an Augsburg starting XI has remained the same for consecutive Bundesliga matches. This coming after their hard-fought 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg last time out. Richter and Vargas will look to support Finnbogason and Niederlechner in attack from the wings, while Reece Oxford remains on the bench.

MCKENNIE STARTS

Weston returns to the Schalke midfield in what looks to be a 4-3-3 set-up for David Wagner's side. Ozan Kabak makes his first Bundesliga start for the Royal Blues with Benjamin Stambouli sidelined with injury, while Mark Uth gets a rare start - his first in a month - alongside Benito Raman - his first start for two months - after the pair bagged goals in the midweek DFB Cup win over Arminia Bielefeld.
