BAYERN GET THE BALL ROLLING AGAIN

More goals to come? A certainty if the first half is anything to go by!

BIG WIN FOR BAYERN

Niko Kovac's charges were forced to work hard for the win here, twice going behind in the first half, but they fought back well and grinded out what could be a vital victory to reduce the gap at the top - temporarily at least - to just two points.

THREE MINUTES OF ADDED TIME

Will we have a late twist?
90'

LAST THROW OF THE DICE?

Max swings a free-kick into the Bayern box from deep. It's half cleared to Ji on the edge of the area and he tries to keep the move alive with another cross into the box, but it's too close to Neuer and the Bayern keeper plucks it from the air.
86'

AUGSBURG NOT GIVING UP

The home team are still trying to get forward in a bid to snatch a draw. They're keeping the ball very well at times, but can't get anywhere near Bayern's goal at present.

ANGUISH FOR KHEDIRA

Süle cuts out a cross from the right into the Bayern box, but it falls right at the feet of the onrushing Khedira. He can't sort his feet out quickly enough though, and the ball ricochets off his shins and goes out for a goal kick.
80'

CHANCE FOR AUGSBURG

Ribery gives away a needless free-kick deep in his own half, wide on the left. It's in a promising position and the hosts pack the box with numbers, but Gregoritsch overhits his effort and it flies harmlessly over the bar.
73'

DANSO DOMINATING

No wonder it's been a relatively quiet game from Lewandowski: Augsburg centre-back Danso has won 67 per cent of all his challenges so far, more than any other player on the home team.
71'

BRILLIANT SAVE FROM KOBEL!

Kimmich whips in a corner from the left, Müller flicks it on and in comes Coman at the back post. His close.range volley is going in, but Kobel makes a stunning reflex save to keep it out.
70'

BAYERN PLAYING KEEP BALL

The home side can't get on the ball at present, with Bayern hogging possession and making them chase the game all over the pitch. Another goal is in the air for the visitors...
65'

GORETZKA CLEAN THROUGH!

The Augsburg defence is all at sea and Goretzka is played through on goal. He only as Kobel to beat from 16 yards, but the Augsburg keeper guesses the right way, diving to his left to make a fine save.
64'

CHANCE FOR OXFORD!

Max is bundled over a couple of times wide on the Augsburg left and wins a free-kick. He takes it and curls a ball deep into the Bayern box, where Reece Oxford comes charging in unmarked at the back post, but he can't direct his header on target and it flies over!
60'

LEWY CLOSE... AGAIN

Lewandowski does brilliantly to control a long ball as it drops over his shoulder, setting himself up for a shot on the bounce. He looks certain to score, but a covering defender does just enough to put him off and his shot flies wide of the post.
57'

ON COMES MÜLLER

James, who had a quiet game, is replaced by Müller in attacking midfield.
57'

JI TESTS NEUER

The South Korean sends a swerving, left-footed shot at goal from the edge of the area. It's well hit, but Neuer saves for a corner.
53'

BRILLIANT FROM ALABA

Bayern lead for the first time this game and it had been coming. Coman holds the ball up well on the left before flicking the ball inside to Alaba. He's still got a lot to do from a very tight angle on the left, but he whips the ball across Kobel and into the far corner. A sensational finish from the Austrian.
53'

David Alaba

LEWY GOES CLOSE AGAIN

Thiago with a superb switch of play from left to right, with Gnabry instantly controlling the ball and setting himself to cross. His low ball into the middle finds Lewandowski, who flicks it just wide. It wouldn't have counted anyway as it turns out, as Lewandowski was flagged for offside - but Bayern are pushing here.
48'

EARLY EFFORT FROM LEWANDOWSKI

The 30-year-old striker is the first to pull the trigger in this half, redirecting Alaba's cross from the left at goal. It comes at him a tad too quickly though and he can't readjust fast enough to get it on target.

COMAN STRIKES AGAIN!

From an Augsburg point of view, that goal came at the worst possible time. Goretzka slides a pass to Coman, who wastes little time in shooting, placing the ball through Kobel's legs and into the net. It's 2-2 at the break!

THREE MINUTES OF STOPPAGE TIME

Can Bayern level matters again before the break?
44'

SCHMID GOES CLOSE!

This is a lovely move from Augsburg. Ji receives a sweeping crossfield pass with a cushioned volley infield to Cordova, whose headed flick-on releases Schmid into the box. The Frenchman takes just too long to set himself though, giving Alaba enough time to make a superb - and necessary - last-ditch tackle.
40'

BAYERN DOMINATING

The visitors are seeing far more of the ball, but Augsburg are dropping ever deeper towards their own penalty area and reducing the space. As such, Bayern haven't been able to create much in the last few minutes.
36'

GORETZKA HEADS OVER

Bayern are turning the screw once again and this time Goretzka has a free header in the box from a free-kick, but he can't keep it down and the ball flies narrowly over the bar.
35'

LEWANDOWSKI HITS THE BAR!

The Bayern forward leaps highest to meet Kimmich's corner from the right and crashes a header against the crossbar! Augsburg manage to clear the rebound and breathe a sigh of relief.
33'

HALF-CHANCE FOR GNABRY

The Germany attacker darts into the box to collect a floated ball forward. He gets a glancing header on it, but it lacks both pace and precision and Kobel makes the save.
30'

MANUEL NEUER LOOK AWAY NOW

The Bayern custodian has had two shots on his goal so far this game, and both of them have gone in. Incidentally, Ji's effort was his first-ever Bundesliga goal against Bayern.
27'

POSITIVE FROM GORETZKA

Perhaps eager to make amends for his earlier own goal - not that he knew much about it - Goretzka drives forward from deep. The Augsburg defence backs off him and he has Gnabry available to his right, but the Germany international goes it alone and powers an effort at goal that Kobel does well to tip around the post for a corner.
24'

AUGSBURG LEAD AGAIN!

It's almost a carbon copy of their opener! Again Max gets down the left and again he pulls the ball back into middle. It's just behind Gregoritsch, but the bobble it takes off his foot slows the ball perfectly for Ji, who smashes an unstoppable left-footed shot past Neuer!

TACTICAL CHANGES?

Augsburg keeper Kobel remains on the ground to receive treatment, giving his coach Manuel Baum the chance to send on a sheet of paper with instructions for Gregoritsch and Schmid.

FIRST FOR COMAN

Stat fiends among you will be pleased to know that Coman's goal was his first in the Bundesliga this season, scored with his 16th shot in his 11th outing of the campaign. Now you know.
17'

BAYERN LEVEL

It had been coming and the visitors finally equalise. Kimmich whips in a cross from the right and Coman, arriving at the back post, coolly sidefoots home.

Kingsley Coman
15'

COMAN AGAIN

The French winger is enjoying plenty of space on the left. He's allowed to drift into the box once again and when his pull-back is half cleared, James tries his luck from distance. He doesn't hit it cleanly though, and Schmid shields the ball from Alaba to earn a goal kick.
12'

BAYERN PUSHING

Anguished expressions on the faces of Gnabry and Lewandowski, as the former's attempted pass was just slightly overhit. Lewandowski would have been clean through otherwise.
9'

HISTORIC GOAL

Goretzka's own goal was his first in Bayern colours and second overall (he scored an own goal while at Schalke - against Bayern, no less - in November 2015. The goal was also the quickest scored in the Bundesliga this season and also the fastest ever in Augsburg's history.
7'

AUGSBURG WITH FIRE IN THEIR BELLIES

Going ahead so early has clearly given the hosts a boost and they're getting forward confidently now. Cordova does well to cross from the right and the ball eventually bobbles to Max on the edge of the Bayern area. He tries an ambitious first-time shot, but doesn't make a clean connection and Neuer makes a comfortable save.
3'

CLOSE FROM GNABRY!

Bayern very nearly level the score almost instantly. Coman has acres of space down the left and crosses a low ball into the middle for Lewandowski. It's just behind the Polish striker, but comes to Gnabry at the far post, but he can't direct his shot on target!
1'

ERM, WHAT?!

Augsburg kick the game off and 15 seconds later they're in front. Max tears away down the left and his cross into the middle is turned into his own net by Goretzka!

PRE-MATCH FORMALITIES

The teams are now out on the pitch, have done the obligatory handshakes and now captains Max and Neuer converge for the coin toss with referee Bibiana Steinhaus

IN THE TUNNEL

We're edging ever closer to kick-off now, with the tracksuited players lining up in the tunnel, shaking hands and geeing each other up.

FIRST FOR MAX

Augsburg's Philipp Max wears the captain's armband for the first time ever in the Bundesliga. His father, Martin, was also a professional footballer and was only ever captain for one game in Germany's top flight, scoring in a 3-1 win away to Hannover for 1860 Munich on 17 August 2002.

AUGSBURG UNDERSTAFFED

Well, not strictly speaking of course, but they are missing a number of first-team regulars, chief among them top scorer Alfred Finnbogason (injury) and midfield string-puller Daniel Baier (suspension). Winter loan signing Reece Oxford starts for a second successive game in defence.

NEUERS BACK!

Obviously the big news from a Bayern perspective is the return of first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer after recovering from a hand injury, meaning understudy Sven Ulreich drops to the bench. Thomas Müller is somewhat surprisingly named among the substitutes once again - he was expected to start given his unavailability in the Champions League this coming week.

HISTORY ON BAYERNS SIDE

These teams have faced each other 18 times in all competitions to date, with Bayern winning 15 and drawing two, socring a whopping 45 goals in the process and conceding just 10. Augsburg's only win came at home on 5 April 2014; they have lost all of the other eight games on their own patch.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

This is Bayern's fourth fixture on a Friday this season. The previous three have produced two wins (over Hoffenheim on Matchdays 1 and 18) and one defeat (against Hertha Berlin on Matchday 6). Augsburg, meanwhile, have the worst record of all Bundesliga sides on Friday nights, winning just once in 19 attempts, drawing seven and losing 11. Their solitary victory on a Friday was over six years ago, in October 2012, when they beat Werder Bremen 3-1.

CURTAIN RAISER!

With Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund dropping points in their last two league outings (draws against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim), as well as conceding three goals in both the DFB Cup and UEFA Champions League recently, this match represents a golden opportunity for Bayern to ramp up the pressure at the top of the table again. Victory would take them to within just two points of BVB at the summit.
