FULL-TIME

It finishes 2-0 to the hosts here thanks to goals from Hazard and Plea who each score their ninth goals of the season to maintain Gladbach's perfect home record. It's deserved in the end but Nuremberg will feel they could have come away with something. The hosts remain second in the table, while Nuremberg are still second-bottom and could end Matchday 16 bottom of the Bundesliga. Thanks for joining us and we hope you enjoy the rest of tonight's matches!

FIRST-HALF

Well, both sides are guilty of missing golden opportunities to open the scoring in that first-half. First it was Sommer's heroic save to deny Nuremberg and then  Mühl who repelled Plea before Zakaria saw his header cleared off the line. But it was Hazard who had the best chance to hand his side the lead but the Belgian could only lift his penalty over the bar on the stoke of half-time. How is this still 0-0?

GOAL!

Nuremberg kept on pushing and had a string of corners but once again Gladbach are clinical on the break. They make the most of Nuremberg being light at the back and Plea strokes home to surely hand Gladbach an eighth successive win at home.

FINAL TEN

We're into the last ten minutes at BORUSSIA-PARK where chances have been few and far between since Hazard's goal. Nuremberg are still pushing, while Gladbach look frightening on the counter-attack.

CLASH OF HEADS

We have a short break in play as Elvedi receives treatment after a clash of heads. He's bleeding a little and looks a little wobbly on his feet but is okay. A change coming up for the hosts.
62'

CALMING DOWN

Neither side has managed to threaten since Hazard's opener with the hosts very much in control. Can Nuremberg muster up an equaliser?
47'

GOAL!

Hazard instantly makes amends for his missed penalty, first starting a superb Gladbach counter-attack and then finishing it off. Traore flashes the ball across the box from the right that misses the outstretched leg of Plea but not Hazard who taps home for his ninth goal of the season. A stunning start for the hosts.

KICK-OFF

The second-half is underway with Nuremberg making a switch at half-time. It's Kevin Goden who is replaced by Ewerton who comes on at left-back as Leibold shifts over to the right, tasked with getting to grips with Hazard.
44'

MISSED PENALTY!

Hazard attempts to chip his penalty down the middle of the goal but he gets too much of it and it goes over the bar.
43'

PENALTY!

Neuhaus was denied a spot-kick earlier in this half but it's given this time. Hazard waits to take it as we go to VAR to check the decision...
40'

CHANCE!

Denis Zakaria should probably have put Gladbach in front there. He's unmarked in the Nuremberg box, four yards out, but can only head Hazard's cross straight at Tim Leibold on the line who combines with Bredlow to clear the danger. A wonderful opportunity but it's still 0-0.

PENALTY APPEAL

Florian Neuhaus goes down in the box as he sandwiches himself between two Nuremberg defenders but the referee waves play on. Good decision from the ref.
26'

CHANCE!

Gladbach so nearly in front but for a superb tackle from Lukas  Mühl who intervenes just as Alassane Plea looks like adding a ninth goal of the season. A lovely exchange between Hazard and Plea opens Nuremberg up but a fine, fine challenge denies the hosts.
15'

FIRST HOME CHANCE

Hazard dinks a cross in from the left and he finds Bayer's head but the Gladbach defender can't get enough power on the header to trouble Bredlow.
10'

DRIVING FUCHS

It was Fuchs that saw his deflected effort strike the bar moments ago and again he finds space in the Gladbach penalty area but he can't get the ball out from under his feet to get another shot on goal. After a fine start for the hosts, Nuremberg are now posing the greater threat going forward.

WHAT A SAVE

Take a bow, Yann Sommer. It's all been Gladbach so far but Nuremberg have the first sight of goal and they would be in front if it weren't for the excellence of the Gladbach 'keeper. The ball rebounds off the bar to Adam Zrelak just six yards out and you think he'll nod home before a superb prevention from Sommer.

KICK-OFF

Gladbach get Matchday 16 underway. Here's hoping for an early Christmas cracker.

HAZARD WARNING

Thorgan Hazard is Gladbach’s top-scorer so far this season with eight goals, scoring five of them at BORUSSIA-PARK. However, the Belgian forward hasn’t found the back of the net in any of his previous three fixtures. Will that change tonight or will Nuremberg manage to avoid the Hazard risk?

AS IT STANDS

It’s a tale of two seconds tonight with Gladbach currently sitting pretty in second-place and Nuremberg occupying a rather less glamorous second-bottom 17th in the Bundesliga. The home side are a nudge ahead of Bayern Munich in third by virtue of goal difference and will be keen to keep their noses in front of Bayern while also moving - for the time being - to within six points of leaders Borussia Dortmund with victory. Nuremberg, meanwhile, can jump out of the relegation places if they clinch a vital three away points.

AWAY WOES

While Gladbach have been red-hot at home, Nuremberg have suffered on their travels and have the worst away record in the league. They are yet to win away having lost five and drawn two so far, conceding 25 goals in the process. Ominous signs.
