Business as usual

After a minor blip, Eintracht Frankfurt are back to winning ways in the Bundesliga thanks to their wing-backs Danny da Costa and Filip Kostic. Karim Bellarabi got one back for Bayer Leverkusen midway through the second half, but Die Werkself couldn’t find a way through for a second despite their attempt at a late onslaught.

Jovic!

This would've been it, but the Serbian fails to convert as he runs free and slides his shot across the face of Hradecky's goal.

Save from Trapp!

Kevin Trapp might have just saved his side two points with a stop from point blank against Kevin Volland on the turn.

Injury time

We go into four additional minutes at the Commerzbank Arena!

Haller to wrap up the points?

Luka Jovic serves his strike partner with a through ball, which Haller tries to drive home at the near post but there's a covering defender there to make the block.

Substitution

79'

Rebic!

There's plenty of space for Frankfurt to attack into right now as Willems lumps a ball long to Rebic, who's forced a little wide to the right but still gets a good shot away that Hradecky has to palm over to safety
77'

Outrageus Salcedo!

There's wry smiles all around as Carlos Salcedo tries to catch Hradecky out from just over the halfway line and the Finn has to backpedal to tip the ball over the bar.
71'

Rebic fluffs his lines

Frankfurt carve open the Leverkusen defence through Kostic down the left. He plays the ball into the box for Rebic, but the Croatian completely duffs his shot andd the ball finishes closer to the corner flag than the goal.
65'

One back for Leverkusen!

This time the visitors do have their goal as Karim Bellarabi comes around the far post to get onto a hopeful diagonal cross and tucks it low past Trapp.

Double Leverkusen change

Heiko Herrlich decides it's time for attacking reinforcements and sends on Lucas Alario and Leon Bailey for Mitchell Weiser and Charles Aranguiz.
63'

Ndicka with a rocket

Evan Ndicka lets fly from 25 yards and Hradecky doesn't even dare try to hold it, instead punching the ball away.
58'

Kostic doubles the lead!

And Frankfurt go straight up the other end, Haller putting a teasing ball across the face of goal and Filip Kostic puts it under Hradecky to give Eintracht a two-goal cushion.

Won't count again

Leverkusen have the ball in the back of the net for the second time tonight as Volland tucks home a deflected cross, but Jedvaj was flagged offside before he put the cross in.
51'

Gacinovic!

Rebic again at the heart of things, this time he tees up Gacinovic just outside the box, but the Serbia international blazes it over the bar.
49'

Rebic!

The World Cup runner-up tries to do it all alone as he drags the ball back from the by-line, looks to shift it to a more favourable angle with his left foot but in the end his shot is blocked for a corner.
46'

No changes

There were a number of players warming up at the break - perhaps simply to keep warm in these freezing temperatures - but there's no new faces as we begin the second 45 minutes.

Deja-vu for Bellarabi?

The Leverkusen man lets fly from a similar position to his disallowed goal, but he gets well under the ball this time and it sails into the Frankfurt night sky.
45'

Finely poised

A very entertaining first half at the Commerzbank Arena with plenty of attempts on goal for both teams. Leverkusen had the ball in the net first but Karim Bellarabi’s goal was ruled off for offside. Not long after, Eintracht had a tight offside call go their way again but this time at the other end as Danny da Costa tucked home Filip Kostic’s cross.
45'

Added time

There's an additional three minutes to be played at the end of the first half.
43'

Tah down

The play has stopped for a moment after a heavy challenge by Mijat Gacinovic on Jonathan Tah. While he's down receiving treatment, Julian Brandt is receiving some tactical instructions from Heiko Herrlich on the touchline.
41'

Save!

Excellent from Rebic as he chests Kostic's cross directly into the path of Haller, who hits it first time from a tight angle but Hradecky is equal to it as he makes himself big.
35'

Fancy feet from Willems

The Dutchman dances his way into the Leverkusen box and past a defender, cutting inside onto his stronger left foot but curling his effort straight at Hradecky.
31'

Volland tries...

But his effort from the edge of the box lacks power and Trapp is able to get down to his left and hold.
28'

Frankfurt lead!

It's tight but this time the goal does count and this time for Frankfurt. Left wing-back Filip Kostic puts the ball across the face of goal and his opposite number Da Costa taps it home.

23'

Just over!

A Frankfurt free-kick from the right looked destined for former Leverkusen man Danny da Costa, but Jedvaj just gets there in front of the Eintracht player and flicks the ball over his own crossbar.
20'

End to end

Both sides just seem intent on attacking today, and this time it's Frankfurt's turn as Rebic cuts back from the left looking for Haller, but again he's closely tracked by a Bayer defender and puts his effort over.
20'

Ruled out!

Bayer Leverkusen and Karim Bellarabi are off celebrating after the forward drilled home a cleared corner from 25 yards, but VAR has signalled to referee Felix Brych that  Aleksandar Dragovic was standing in an offside position and the goal is ruled out.
17'

Friends no longer

Lukas Hradecky is back at Eintracht Frankfurt for the first time since winning the DFB Cup last summer, and he gets a 'warm' welcome from his former teammate Ante Rebic as the striker closes down a clearance and upends the Finn. All smiles afterwards though.
16'

Save!

Leverkusen break forward at pace through Karim Bellarabi, and he slips the ball left to Julian Brandt in space. The Germany international cuts inside onto his right foot aiming for the far corner, but his international teammate Kevin Trapp denies him at full stretch.
11'

Penalty?

Leverkusen win a free-kick wide on the left after a foul on Tin Jedvaj. Eintracht fail to clear it properly after some confusion between goalkeeper and defender, and Kevin Volland has the chance on the rebound, but it hits Falette. Leverkusen are saying it hit the defender's arm, but he had his back turn and after a quick consultation with VAR play continues.
4'

Tough tackle

Jetro Willems will have to toe the line for the next 87 minutes as he's shown a yellow for clatering into Kai Havertz. The Leverkusen teenager is feeling the effects of that on his ankle and only slowly gets back to his feet
2'

Rapid start

Frankfurt are immediately on the attack as Ante Rebic races through on goal. He's under pressure but could still shoot, yet he opts to square the ball to Sebastien Haller, who's beaten to it be a late tackle.
Kick-off!

Take your seats

The teams are just gathering in the tunnel at the Commerzbank Arena. We're only moments away from kick-off!

Rotation for both

After Europa League matches on Thursday, there are a number of changes for both sides. Leverkusen arrive with seven new faces, Frankfurt ‘just’ five, including Mijat Gacinovic. He bagged a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win over Lazio, and is rewarded for that with a first Bundesliga appearance since the end of October.

Leverkusen:

Hradecky – Weiser, Tah, Dragovic, Jedvaj – Kohr, Aranguiz – Bellarabi, Havertz, Brandt – Volland (c)

Frankfurt:
