Werder Bremen 0-3 Augsburg

Goals: 0-1 Gregoritsch (43'), 0-2 Finnbogason (pen. 45'), 0-3 Gregoritsch (61')

Max Kruse, back in the starting line-up for the first time since September, carried Bremen's primary threat, but the returning forward only managed to test Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz once from range. Daniel Baier struck the woodwork as the visitors began to take control, before Michael Gregoritsch headed in a cross from Philipp Max to break the deadlock. Alfred Finnbogason doubled Augsburg's lead from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box by Niklas Moisander.

Gregoritsch headed another pin-point Max delivery against the upright as Augsburg began the second half in much the same vein as they had finished the first. The Austria international soon doubled up, however, capping a lightning counter by collecting a pass from Caiuby and calmly slotting beyond Jiri Pavlenka. Finnbogason missed a glorious chance to add a fourth, but the damage had long been done and leaves Bremen marooned in the bottom two on just five points, without a Bundesliga win since 29 April.
