Mario Gomez may not have seen much of the ball in Stuttgart's 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, but from afar, he saw how his team fought at the other end of the field to ensure Daniel Ginczek's early goal sufficed for three points.
What he witnessed impressed the Germany international, even if he admitted he would like to have had a few more chances to score himself. What matted, though, was getting three points.
"We were defending a little bit like Ateltico Madrid today," he said. "It's also fun to play like this because you feel it works and the opposing team doesn't have any chances. Of course, we could do much better when we have the ball but it doesn't matter – we won the game and that's what we wanted."
