Touted as an option to be included in Joachim Löw's Germany squad at this summer's 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Augsburg left-back Philipp Max spoke exclusively to bundesliga.com about the possibility of being on the plane as the reigning world champions attempt to defend their crown.

Speaking after his side's Matchday 22 defeat away to RB Leipzig, the 24-year-old said: "Obviously being at a tournament [like the World Cup] is the biggest thing you can achieve as a professional footballer. It's every child's dream in Germany to play football and that's understandable. As I said, I'm more than keen!"
