Hoffenheim 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt

Goals: 0-1 Boateng (13'), 1-1 Uth (90+1')

Frankfurt got off to a flying start, thanks to a stunning lone-range goal from Kevin-Prince Boateng. The Ghanaian midfielder collected the ball from a good 25 yards, before arrowing an unstoppable effort up and over the outstretched left hand of Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Frankurt's physicality continued to cause problems for the hosts, with Mijat Gacinovic going agonisingly close to doubling the visitors' lead. Hoffenheim's only notable chance fell to Sandro Wagner, whose close-range effort was fumbled onto the post by Lukas Hradecky.

Dennis Geiger took a leaf out of Boateng's book at the start of the second half, but the young Hoffenheim midfielder's vicious drive veered narrowly off target at the last. Geiger sent another effort wide after a driving run from Kerem Demirbay and substitute Nadiem Amiri failed to test Hradecky when receiving a fine cross, before Baumann kept the hosts in the game with a sensational stop from Ante Rebic. It was a decisive moment as the returning Serge Gnabry teed up Uth for a dramatic equaliser right at the last.
