Bayern Munich suffered their first defeat under new coach Jupp Heynckes on Matchday 13, as a side deprived of key players including Manuel Neuer, Thiago, Arjen Robben, Frank Ribery and Thomas Müller slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Thorgan Hazard opened the scoring for the Foals from the penalty spot after Niklas Süle handled the ball inside the box, and Matthias Ginter gave the hosts a 2-0 lead just before half-time.
Bayern increased the pressure in the second half and pulled one back thanks to Arturo Vidal's long distance drive, but they were unable to find an equaliser late in the game.
