DFL confirms kick-off times for Matchdays 1-8 in Bundesliga 2
Following the release of the 2023/24 fixture lists, the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has now confirmed the exact dates and kick-off times for Matchdays 1 to 8 in Bundesliga 2.
The action begins with a standalone fixture between Hamburg and Schalke on Friday 28 July (8.30pm CEST). Promoted duo Osnabrück and Wehen Wiesbaden are at home to Karlsruhe and Magdeburg respectively on Saturday 29 July (1.30pm CEST), with fellow new boys Elversberg away to Hannover in the same time slot. The evening fixture (8.30pm CEST) is a heavyweight clash between Fortuna Düsseldorf and relegated Hertha Berlin.
The meeting between Traditionsvereine Schalke and Kaiserslautern is the headline Matchday 2 fixture (5 August, 8.30pm CEST). Hannover vs. Nuremberg (1.30pm CEST) is the pick of the Sunday games that weekend.

Watch: Get ready for Matchday 1!
Matchday 3 will get underway with Kaiserslautern vs. Elversberg on Friday, 18 August (kick-off: 6.30pm CEST). Saturday night's games then culminate in Hamburg vs. Hertha Belin (kick-off: 8.30pm CEST).
On Matchday 6, in addition to the Franconian derby between Nuremberg and Greuther Fürth (Friday, 15 September, kick-off: 6.30pm CEST), there is the Lower Saxony clash between Hannover and Osnabrück (Sunday, 17 September, kick-off: 1.30pm CEST).
On Matchday 7, Bundesliga founding members Eintracht Braunschweig and Nuremberg meet at the same time the promoted duo of Wehen Wiesbaden and Elversberg face-off (Saturday, 23 September, kick-off: 1pm CEST). Then, two weeks later, relegated pair Schalke and Hertha meet for the first time since dropping down from the top division (Sunday, 8 October, kick-off: 1.30 pm).
The timings for the following set of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 fixtures are scheduled to be announced in the week beginning 2 October, following the draw for the second round of the DFB Cup.
