Strong tackle

Long ball from the Lilies to Isac Lidberg. He would have been through on goal if the ball had reached him. But Luca Bazzoli slides in and clears as the last man.

No one there

Isac Lidberg gets the ball in the penalty area. He goes to the byline seven metres to the right of the goal, then chips it back into the middle. But there's no teammate there.

Crossbar!

Münster rattle the woodwork. Lorenz crosses the ball to the six-yard box. Hólmbert Aron Friðjónsson gets his head to it. The ball sails in a high arc over Schuhen... but onto the crossbar. Three Münster players rush towards the rebound, but get in each other's way just in front of the goal line. In the end, Schuhen claims the ball.

The Lilies counter-attack. The ball comes to Sergio López on the right side of the penalty area. He passes to the middle, a Darmstadt player clears it to the edge of the box. There, Killian Corredor gets the ball, wants to shoot and is challenged from behind by Mees. Referee Benen immediately points to the spot, the VAR takes a close look to see if there was contact. Half-time: Münster 0-1 Darmstadt

Darmstadt go into the break with a narrow lead. Both teams have struggled to create dangerous situations. The spectators in the stadium have seen just seven attempts on goal. Shortly before the break, however, Marseiler struck with a well-placed effort to put the Lilies in front.

Darmstadt take the lead

Strong effort from Marseiler. He drives down the left touchline, about 40 metres from goal and passes to the edge of the penalty area to Isac Lidberg, who waits, then lays the ball into Marseiler's path. He's quicker than his marker, and slots the ball with his left foot from 12 metres past Schenk into the bottom left corner.

Another goalless draw?

The last two second division encounters between Münster and Darmstadt (1991, 2024; both in Darmstadt) each ended 0-0.
45'

Long time ago

The only Darmstadt goal in five second division matches against Preußen Münster was scored by Michael Blättel in December 1989 during a 1-2 home defeat via penalty kick.
45'

Off target

Now Pick tries from distance. The right-footer cuts in from the left, strikes from 24 metres - wide of the left post.
43'

No one gets to it

Cross from the left by Münster - in the middle Mees can't get his head to the ball.
39'

Attempt

Münster's first shot on goal. Makridis cuts in from the right to the centre, then fires with his left foot from 22 metres out – a low shot towards the bottom right corner. But Schuhen gets down and saves it.
37'

Close one

Following a cross from the right, the ball is headed on into the path of Lorenz. But the ball bounces too far away from him, allowing Schuhen to collect it safely.
36'

Next counter-attack wasted

After a Darmstadt corner, the home side can counter-attack. But Makridis plays a misplaced pass to the edge of the penalty area. Chance gone.
34'

Tough approach

The hosts are going about things resolutely - and have already committed five fouls.

That could have been dangerous. Makridis does well on the right, crosses with his left to the far post. Pick heads it back into the middle. But Vukotić manages to clear it on the five-yard line.

Long ball to the left, where Killian Corredor is positioned and crosses - once again behind the goal.

Finally a shot

From a counter-attack, Corredor gets a shot away against Koulis from a half-right position. Münster keeper Schenk parries it somewhat uncertainly away for a corner.
24'

Not much happening in Münster

The spectators in Münster are witnessing a balanced match, but one that's lacking highlights. So far there hasn't been a real goal-scoring opportunity. Darmstadt are playing more offensively, while Münster counter. But neither side has managed to create anything meaningful from their approaches.
22'

Chance squandered

Darmstadt win the ball on the halfway line, then quickly move up the left flank. Killian Corredor passes to the centre to Isac Lidberg. But the pass is too imprecise, the striker can't control it. Thus, the potential opportunity is wasted.
21'

Misplaced cross

Somehow the ball slips through to Marseiler on the right. He crosses, but it balloons far behind the goal.

Strong in the tackle

Darmstadt are clearly more successful in terms of direct duels.

Balanced game

It's back and forth at the moment. Darmstadt have more control over the match, pressing early. Münster, on the other hand, are counter-attacking. There haven't been any real goal-scoring opportunities yet; both teams have had one shot on target, but neither has found the back of the net.
11'

Almost the first chance

That was close. Münster storm down the right and the ball is played knee-high into the middle. Riedel drops the ball right at Batmaz's feet. The latter doesn't connect properly seven metres in front of goal and the chance goes awry.
9'

Full Power

Darmstadt press doggedly, disrupting Münster's build-up play in their own penalty area. The home side are struggling with this.
7'

Already the second yellow

Riedel barges into Mies just beyond the halfway line as he was in full sprint. It's the eighth yellow card for Riedel this season.
6'

Frenkert goes off

And now Frenkert has to come off after all. He tried again, but it's simply not possible. So Koulis is coming on now.
3'

Short comeback?

Frenkert was on the pitch for just 30 seconds, for the first time since his muscle strain. Then he sees yellow - and stays down with muscle problems. But after treatment, he continues playing. A teammate was already prepared to come on as a substitute.
1'

Yellow card for Frenkert

That was quick. Fenkert brings down Marseiler in a foot race, and he receives a yellow card after just 30 seconds.

Rare start for Marseiler

Luca Marseiler had been in the Lilies' starting eleven only once in the past seven matchdays (on Matchday 27 in 1-2 defeat at Ulm).

Starting opportunity for Ter Horst

Jano ter Horst starts for the first time since Matchday 25 (0-1 home defeat against Nürnberg); after that he only came on once as a substitute (on the past matchday in Cologne).

Frenkert back in the team

Lukas Frenkert is in the Münster starting XI for the first time since Matchday 23 (a 2-0 home victory against Regensburg); the 24-year-old missed the past five matchdays due to a muscle tear.

One change for Darmstadt

Lilies coach Florian Kohfeldt makes only one change to his starting XI compared to the most recent match (3-1 home win against Hannover): Luca Marseiler plays for Jean-Paul Boëtius (on the bench).

Münster with four changes

Coach Sascha Hildmann makes four changes to his starting line-up compared to the most recent match (1-3 defeat in Cologne): Frenkert, Lorenz, ter Horst and Pick come in for Kirkeskov (not in the squad), Scherder, Kinsombi and Schad (all on the bench).

Darmstadt's starting XI

Schuhen - López, Riedel, Vukotić, Bueno - Müller, Nürnberger - Marseiler, Hornby, Corredor - Lidberg

Münster's starting XI

Schenk - Frenkert, Mrowca, Lorenz - ter Horst, Bazzoli, Hendrix, Makridis - Pick - Batmaz, Mees

Florian Kohlfeldt on facing Münster

"We have the opportunity to secure our place in the division four matchdays before the end of the season. Additionally, we've collected too few points against teams from the lower regions of the table. In many of these matches, we lacked the personnel options to implement what we had planned. Against Münster, we have our ideas about how we will approach the match so that we can be successful. Münster need a win due to their current situation, which gives the match a special character."

Sascha Hildmann on facing Darmstadt

"Tomorrow we need to show great commitment, help each other, and run a lot. We want to be active and apply pressure. For that, we need to be brave. In our first clash earlier in this season, we defended flawlessly, which was very good. But tomorrow's match shouldn't go the same way - we want to be more offensive and create more chances ourselves."

Darmstadt defy sending off a decade ago

The last victory for Darmstadt against Münster was an away win on 5 April 2014 in the third division. Despite an early sending off (for Dominik Stroh-Engel in the 25th minute), Darmstadt won 2-0 under manager Dirk Schuster.

Three consecutive competitive wins

The last Bundesliga 2 encounters before this season date back quite a while. Nevertheless, Darmstadt have won five of their last seven competitive matches against the Eagles, including third division games, and have kept clean sheets in the last three encounters.

A single goal

The only Darmstadt goal in five Bundesliga 2 matches against Preußen Münster was scored by Michael Blättel in December 1989 during a 1-2 home defeat - and that came from a penalty.

Unbeaten

Münster have never lost against Darmstadt in Bundesliga 2 (with three wins, two draws, four goals scored and only one conceded).
