Gerd Müller is at the top with 15 goals in the first ten games of the 1968/69 season. Here is the 'Bomber der Nation' celebrating one of those goals in 1968.
Lewandowski's goal against 1. FC Köln took him onto 13 for the first ten games of the current campaign, earning him second place on the list.
Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper Wolfgang Kleff and defender Wilfried Hannes (l.) could do little to stop Müller from scoring in this 1977/78 fixture on his way to 12 goals and third place on the list.
Müller was also in prolific form at the start of the 1972/73 season, again with 12 goals in ten matches.
Müller perhaps did not live up to his usual standards in 1969/70 with a relatively modest 11 goals from the first ten games, including this one against SV Werder Bremen.

...Mario Gomez, who hit the ground running in the 2011/12 season with ten goals in as many games.
Formerly the Bundesliga's most prolific foreign goalscorer, Brazilian Giovane Elber netted ten goals in the 2002/03 season, when Bayern went on to win the title by a 16-point margin over his former club, VfB Stuttgart.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, currently Bayern's CEO, headed in this goal past Viktoria Köln goalkeeper Bernd Helmschot on his way to nine goals in the first ten Matchdays, and later to clinching the Torkanone as the top scorer in the 1980/81 season.
Müller picked up the Torkanone as the leading scorer in the 1966/67 Bundesliga season, a year he started with nine goals in the first ten games, when he was just 21.
