Bayern Munich's 6-0 win at Hertha BSC Berlin on Matchday 26 was Jupp Heynckes' 600th game as a Bundesliga coach - a figure topped only by the man in the other dugout at the Olympic Stadium, Otto Rehhagel
It all began for Heynckes at Borussia Mnchengladbach on August 11th 1979, with a 1-1 draw against FC Schalke 04. In his first season in charge of the Foals, he led them to the UEFA Cup final
Heynckes' 50th game in charge of Gladbach, on December 6th 1980, was unfortunately not one to remember, at least for the right reasons, as they went down 4-0 to FC Bayern
It was a radically different story 50 games later though (15.05.1982), as Heynckes' charges beat the men from Munich 3-0 at the Bkelberg
12.11.1983: The other Borussia, from up the motorway in Dortmund, provided the opposition for Heynckes' 150th game in charge. Gladbach won 2-1 and went on to finish third in the league
Top-flight game 200 (11.05.1985) was a decidedly damp squib however, as Mnchengladbach went down 3-2 at home to 1. FC Kln
The final "anniversary" with his hometown club - for the time being - was the 250th and ended in a 4-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart on November 1st 1986. At the end of the season, Heynckes moved to FC Bayern
His 300th Bundesliga outing came on April 16th 1988, when Bayern lost out 2-1 to Hannover 96. Moving swiftly on...
...here's to the 350th instead! The season Heynckes (m.) cracked that barrier, he also guided FC Bayern to a second successive Bundesliga title
Some six months after racking up his 400th appearance in a Bundesliga dugout (16.04.1991), Heynckes (r.) was sacked by FC Bayern. After stints with Athletic Bilbao (twice), Tenerife, Real Madrid and Benfica, with a season at Eintracht Frankfurt thrown in for good measure, he saw in his next jubilee...
...with FC Schalke 04 on September 20th 2003. Bundesliga Matchday 450 ended in disappointment though as the Royal Blues went down 2-1 at SC Freiburg
Back to the roots: Heynckes made it 500-up during his second spell with Borussia Mnchengladbach, on January 27th 2007. Energie Cottbus were the opponents, and Gladbach lost 3-1
And then (30.10.2010) it was 550. Heynckes was in charge of Bayer 04 Leverkusen now, and this one went off successfully with a 1-0 win at Schalke
