Hit the ground running
HSV are unbeaten in eight league games since Thorsten Fink became coach.
Fink has already pulled level with Mirko Slomka, who went eight games unbeaten after being promoted from assistant to head coach at Schalke 04 in 2006
The late Willi Entenmann (l.) was another coach who kicked off his Bundesliga career in the dugout with an eight-match unbeaten run, winning seven and drawing one after taking over at VfB Stuttgart in1986
Another member of the Bundesliga debutants' eight-game club: Helmut Benthaus won five and drew three, also with Stuttgart, in 1982
And yet another: Ernst Diehl (r., with Thomas Allofs) likewise won five and drew three in 1983 with 1. FC Kaiserslautern
Markus Babbel is still just ahead of his former FC Bayern teammate Thorsten Fink, starting out as a coach in the Bundesliga with nine games unbeaten in 2008 - once again with Stuttgart
Ewald Lienen also made it into double figures at the very start of his top-flight coaching career, with MSV Duisburg...
...while going back somewhat further, Branko Zebec completes the current trio of coaches on the ten-game mark - in his case, it was with FC Bayern in 1968
Still out in front with something to spare however is Karl-Heinz Feldkamp (l.), who remained unbeaten for 14 games after becoming coach of Kaiserslautern - six to go then for Fink to pull level!
