Curtain raiser for the 2012/13 season: Record champions FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, holders of both the cup and the Bundesliga title, will be competing for the 2012 Supercup at the Allianz Arena on Sunday
The Supercup will be televised in 199 countries and it is expected that Munich's Allianz Arena will be sold out and top last year's record crowd of 61.000 at the Arena AufSchalke
Franck Ribery (right, against Neven Subotic) is eager to beat the Bundesliga champions as his side lost the last five clashes: "We can no longer afford to lose to them. We are completely under pressure. The Supercup is our first real test and we have got to send out a signal."
Dortmund will be equally keen to win the season's first title after losing last year's final against arch rivals Schalke 04.
That was only the third time in 12 finals that the cup winner won the Supercup against the Bundesliga champions
Schalke beat Dortmund 4-3 (0-0) on penalties in 2011
Bayern (1987, 1990, 2010), Dortmund (1989, 1995, 1996) and Werder Bremen (1988, 1993, 1994) have each won the Supercup three times
Robert Lewandowski has been Dortmund's match winner in their last two meetings with Bayern. He netted the only goal of a 1-0 win on matchday 30 last season before grabbing a hat-trick in the DFB Cup final
Lewandowski became only the third player to score a hat-trick in a DFB Cup final - nobody has ever scored more
