Munich - Germany head coach Joachim Löw will be without Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus for Tuesday's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands (kick-off 20:45 CET) due to a gastro-intestinal infection.
The 24-year-old wasn't part of the group which travelled to the Faroes on Monday after having to sit out of Sunday's training session. He will instead travel back to Dortmund.
The attacking midfielder started Friday night's 3-0 victory over Austria at the Allianz Arena but is now likely to be replaced by FC Schalke 04's Julian Draxler.
Reus is the fifth player to pull out of Löw's September squad with Dortmund team-mate Ilkay Gündogan, FC Bayern München midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mario Götze and Bayer 04 Leverkusen's Lars Bender also currently sidelined.
