Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa scored a first-half brace as Japan thrashed Bulgaria 7-2 in Friday's Kirin Cup semi-final in Toyota.

The BVB favourite struck in the 26th and 35th minutes to take his international tally to 25 goals in 80 appearances.

Japan will face Bosnia-Herzegovina in Tuesday's final after a side that included Sead Kolasinac (FC Schalke 04), Toni Sunjic (VfB Stuttgart) and Mario Vrancic (SV Darmstadt 98) overcame Denmark 4-3 on penalties in the competition's other semi-final tie.

Bundesliga trio Andreas Christensen (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg (FC Schalke 04) and Jannik Vestergaard (SV Werder Bremen) all featured for the Danes, who had led the match 2-0 before being pegged back and losing out from the spot.
