Munich - After a hassle-free day at the office against BATE Borisov, UEFA Champions League Group F winners FC Bayern Munich can, in theory, look forward to a much more favourable match-up in the next round.

Although a solid all-round team display, it was pint-sized winger who really caught the eye. bundesliga.com caught up with the Swiss maestro after the game to get his thoughts on a rare headed goal, his burgeoning partnership with Mario Gomez and Saturday's trip to FC Augsburg.

Question: Xherdan Shaqiri, you were the man of the match after scoring one and laying on another. How does it feel to come back into the starting line-up and show the coach what you're really capable of?

Xherdan Shaqiri: Of course the players that come back into the side want to play well, but it wasn't just me. Mario Gomez, for example, played really well but others too. That was important.

Question: You made it 3-0 with a bullet header. How often has that happened?

Shaqiri:(laughs) I don't think I scored a header at Basel. Actually, that was probably my first.

Question: Did you see your markers? They were three times your size and you jumped far higher.

Shaqiri:(laughs) I had to jump a bit higher. The cross landed perfectly on my head and I didn't really have to do much to put it away.

Quesiton: Have Bayern now got a new dream pairing up front in and Xherdan Shaqiri? You combined brilliantly today.

Shaqiri: Sure we played well, but it really doesn't matter who plays up top. All the strikers have put in good performances so far. Whether it's been , or Mario Gomez - they've all showed what they can do. That doesn't make it easy for the coach.

Question: Bayern return to the Bundesliga at the weekend to take on FC Augsburg. Will it be tougher than Borisov?

Shaqiri: Like Borisov, Augsburg will sit back and look to hit us on the counter. If we don't find the net early on, we will have to be patient and wait for the next chance.
