They each left an indelible mark on the Bundesliga. Nine legends in their own right, now proudly flying the Bundesliga flag across the globe. Like midfield dynamo Jiayi Shao, whose successful stints at TSV 1860 Munich and FC Energie Cottbus garnered 67 Bundesliga appearances and four top-flight goals. Appearing at the 2002 FIFA World Cup for China prior to moving to Germany, Shao was appointed UNAIDS National Goodwill Ambassador in his country shortly after hanging up his boots in 2015.
