Werder Bremen have confirmed the two-year loan signing of China international Yuning Zhang from West Brom.

The 20-year-old forward is set to become the fourth Chinese player to play in the Bundesliga, after Hao Junmin (Schalke), Shao Jiayi (1860 Munich, Energie Cottbus) and Yang Chen (Eintracht Frankfurt).

"We're delighted to bring in Yuning Zhang on a two-year loan deal," said Werder sporting director Frank Baumann.

"He's decided against the big money of China, and opted for a good education in the Bundesliga.

"He won't rock the Bundesliga immediately, but he's got potential and experience of playing in Europe. We want to further his development and bring him up to Bundesliga level."

Zhang, who made his professional debut for Hangzhou Greentown in his native China, scored four goals in 27 Eredivisie appearances for former club Vitesse Arnhem. He is a nine-time senior international.

News of the deal comes a month after Frankfurt hosted the first ever Chinese-German Football Summit.
