Mönchengladbach - Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed left-sided specialist Nico Schulz from Bundesliga rivals Hertha Berlin.

'A great fit'

After passing a medical check on Tuesday, the 22-year-old put pen to paper on a four-year deal valid until 30 June 2019.

“We’ve kept a close eye on Nico’s development over the last few years and are delighted we’ve been able to sign him,” Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl told the club's official website. “He can play in either an attacking or defensive role on the left and he’s a great fit for our squad.”

Schulz made 51 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha and earned 12 caps for Germany’s U-21s.
