Schalke sign Spanish defender Pablo Insua
Schalke have completed the signing of Spanish defender Pablo Insua from Deportivo La Coruna.
The 23-year-old centre-back has signed a four-year deal until 30 June 2021.
"This is a big step for me, Schalke are a big club who have left their mark in Europe," Insua said. "I’m looking forward to the task ahead."
Insua, who is a product of the Deportivo academy and was part of the Spain Under-19 side that won the UEFA European U-19 Championship in 2012, spent the last two seasons on loan at CD Leganes. He joins Schalke having made 123 appearances across Spain’s top two divisions.
"Pablo Insua is a tactically adept player, he moves the ball and reads the game very well," commented new Schalke head coach Domenico Tedesco. "He's also a clean tackler."

The Royal Blues, who finished 10th last season, begin their Bundesliga campaign at home to 2016/17 runners-up RB Leipzig on 19 August.
