Anthony Modeste has agreed a new two-year contract extension with 1. FC Köln.

The 28-year-old French striker has put pen to paper on a deal which will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2021.

"I'm delighted that I'll be playing for Köln in the coming seasons," Modeste said. "I'm sorry for causing the fans unrest in recent weeks; it's just I'm the kind of person that only looks forward. What happens on the pitch is all that matters now. I'm focussed on the new season."

Modeste, who joined Köln from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim last summer, finished the 2015/16 season as the Billy Goats' leading marksman on 15 goals in 34 Bundesliga appearances.
