Hertha Berlin to stay at Olympiastadion until 2025

Hertha Berlin have revealed that the club will play at the Olympiastadion until 2025 following a decision taken at the club’s annual general meeting on Monday.

The Old Lady’s contract at the arena, which serves as Germany’s national stadium and the venue for the DFB Cup final, had been due to expire at the end of the 2016/17 season. The new contract also contains an option for the capital side to continue playing at the ground for a further five years until 2030.

The Olympiastadion, one of the most famous footballing arenas in the world, has hosted some memorable games in recent years, including the 2015 UEFA Champions League final and the 2006 FIFA World Cup final. Hertha have played their home games at the venue since 1963.
