Hamburg's Holtby out for eight weeks with broken collarbone

Hamburger SV midfielder Lewis Holtby will miss the next eight to ten weeks after a bicycle accident at HSV's training camp in Switzerland left him with a broken collarbone.

"This is of course a great shock to us and I am very sorry for Lewis," coach Bruno Labbadia told the club's official website, hsv.de. "He made a really good impression in the first days of training, was very professional and his attitude rubbed off on his teammates. We wish him a speedy recovery and will give him our full support."

Holtby went for a cycle in the Swiss mountains and fell on his way back to the training camp, injuring the area above his left shoulder. The 25-year-old was taken to the Swiss city of Fribourg for an operation, posting light-hearted pictures on social media in the hours since.
