Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Germany international forward Andre Schürrle from Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg.

"Borussia Dortmund is one of the top clubs in Europe with a strong and extremely exciting squad," said the 25-year-old, who has signed a five-year deal through to 30 June 2021. "I know from personal experience how much power BVB can generate through their fans and I look forward to that. In the coming years I want to celebrate success with Borussia Dortmund and I expect to start training immediately and to convince people that signing me was the right thing to do."

Dortmund represent the fourth Bundesliga outfit on Schürrle's CV following spells at boyhood club 1. FSV Mainz 05 and Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The Ludwigshafen native moved to English Premier League side Chelsea FC in summer 2013, before returning to Germany with Wolfsburg in February 2015.

A FIFA World Cup winner with Germany two years ago and 55-time senior international, Schürrle has 48 goals to show for his 174 Bundesliga appearances to date. He scored nine times in the German top flight last season as Wolfsburg finished eighth in the Bundesliga standings - ten points from the UEFA Champions League places.
