Bundesliga Daily rounds up all you need to know from Germany's 18 top-flight clubs. There was plenty of activity in the transfer market on 20 July as 1. FC Köln signed a 20-year-old Frenchman, FC Augsburg bade farewell to a loyal servant and Hertha Berlin signed a Slovakia international, while a certain nimble-footed midfielder returned to training at FC Bayern München.

Ginter misses out

Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter suffered a double blow on Wednesday: not only was he struck down with a stomach infection, he was also subsequently forced to pull out of the club's pre-season trip to China. Get well soon!

Duda signs for Hertha

Slovakia international Andrej Duda has joined UEFA Europa League participants Hertha Berlin. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who featured in all three of the Repre’s UEFA EURO 2016 group games and scored in the 2-1 defeat to semi-finalists Wales, signed on from from Legia Warszawa.

Köln snap up Guirassy

Meanwhile, 1. FC Köln have completed the signing of 20-year-old French striker Sehrou Guirassy on a five-year contract from LOSC Lille.

Guirassy joined Lille from Stade Laval last summer, but was loaned out to AJ Auxerre for the second half of the 2015/16 season. The youngster netted eight goals in 16 appearances for the Ligue 2 side.

"Sehrou Guirassy is a direct forward with an eye for goal and a clinical finish," said head coach Peter Stöger. "He is a central striker, but can also play on the wings. We believe in his potential."

Klavan bids farewell

FC Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan has completed his protracted move to Liverpool FC, who are coached by former Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp.

"I had an amazing time at FCA but I've now been able to fulfil a childhood dream by moving to England," said the centre-back. "I would like to thank all of the management at Augsburg for allowing the transfer to go through. I got an impression of Anfield when I played there with FCA in the Europa League in February. I am looking forward to experiencing that regularly now."

Estonia captain Klavan made 125 appearances for Augsburg across four seasons, scoring four goals.
