Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel said he was “very pleased” with the club’s ten-day winter training camp in Dubai after returning home to Germany on Saturday.

BVB took full advantage of the excellent facilities at the NAS Sports Complex, recording two friendly victories over Eintracht Frankfurt (4-0) and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (4-1), and putting in over 900 minutes of warm-weather training – providing a welcome respite from the cold temperatures that greeted them on returning to Dortmund.

“We’ve worked very hard and very intensely over the last two weeks,” Tuchel told the club's official website. Furthermore, the 42-year-old was able to welcome back defender Erik Durm from injury against South Korean champions Jeonbuk, while midfielder Nuri Sahin also edged closer to a return to full fitness.

Dortmund face Sparta Prague in their final warm-up fixture before the start of the Bundesliga Rückrunde, when they will travel to Borussia Möchengladbach next Saturday.
