FC Ingolstadt 04 have strengthened their attack for the second half of the season by signing Dario Lezcano from Swiss club FC Luzern.

'We are convinced we'll have plenty of joy with Dario'

The Paraguayan international has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract with Die Schanzer and is eagerly looking forward to making his debut against 1. FSV Mainz 05 this weekend. "The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world," he said on his new club's website. "I'm full of excitement, motivation and confidence for this challenge.

"Together with the Schanzer fans, we want to celebrate survival at the end of the season and I want to make my own contribution and help achieve this with maximum effort."

The 25-year-old has spent the past seven years in the Swiss Super League and has scored 11 goals in 14 games for Luzern this season, catching the eye of Ingolstadt's sporting director Thomas Linke, who said: "Dario is a very skilful forward who has already proven his goalscoring menace.

"His ruthlessness in front of the opposition's goal is just one of his strengths, as is his tireless determination to win. The long-term contract we have offered him is proof that we are convinced we'll have plenty of joy with Dario also beyond the current season."
