Not a single round of fixtures went by without something worthy of the highlight reel, which made our mid-season task of selecting the standout encounter from Matchdays 1 through 16 all the more difficult - but we got there in the end!

FC Bayern München enjoyed a five-goal fiesta on Matchday 14, as Arjen Robben, Thomas Müller, Douglas Costa and a Robert Lewandowski brace eased the Bavarians past VfL Wolfsburg with a 5-0 triumph. Müller's strike was a personal victory for the Germany international, who ended a 999-minute goal drought in the Bundesliga. Meanwhile, Lewandowski's double was enough to keep him in this season's race for the Torjägerkanone.
