With 22 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances, it has been a year to savour for Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez.

The Mexico national hero's pre-Leverkusen days were littered with setbacks, but the 28-year-old now enjoys irreplaceable status in the Bayer starting line-up and is a firm favourite among the fans. For that, and much more besides, Chicharito says he is eternally grateful.
