Josuha Guilavogui has signed a three-year contract with VfL Wolfsburg, after spending the last two seasons on loan at the Lower Saxony outfit from Club Atletico de Madrid.

The French midfielder, who turns 26 in September, will remain at the club until 30 June 2019.

"We're really happy to have tied Josuha down for the foreseeable," said Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs, after the club exercised their option-to-buy-clause in Guilavogui's loan deal. "He's shown what a great fit he is for Wolfsburg as a player and person in the last two seasons. We always wanted to sign him long-term because he hasn't finished developing yet and we want to celebrate further success together."

Guilavogui was likewise in no doubt as to where his future lay, adding: "I'm really happy to continue playing for Wolfsburg and to be part of this fantastic club. I felt really happy from my first day in Wolfsburg and that's why I always wanted to stay here. I want to play my part in helping Wolfsburg establish themselves as one of the top sides in the Bundesliga and to play regular Champions League football."

Guilavogui has made 84 appearances in all competitions for the Wolves, including 30 in the recently ended Bundesliga campaign in which Dieter Hecking's men missed out on European qualification after finishing eighth.
