Borussia Dortmund have signed French talent Ousmane Dembele on a five-year deal from Stade Rennes FC.

'I cannot wait to play in the Bundesliga'

The 18-year-old forward, who was voted Ligue 1 Young Player of the Season just last week, will link up with his new club in the summer.

"BVB made a real effort to sign me from the start and always kept close contact - their conduct really impressed me," Dembele said. "I was completely sold on what they're doing at Borussia. I can hardly wait to play in the Bundesliga in front of 80,000 fans at the Signal Iduna Park and to play alongside my new teammates in the Champions League."

Explaining what Dembele will bring to Dortmund, sporting director Michael Zorc said: "Ousmane can pretty much play in every position in attack. He's strong in the one-on-ones, can use both feet, is a real handful, quick and a danger in front of goal."

Dortmund are the France Under-21 international's second station since making his professional debut for Rennes on 6 November 2015. He has made 25 league appearances for his current club, registering 12 goals and five assists.
