Football fans will be treated to a true highlight when FC Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund kick off the 2016/17 campaign by contesting the DFL Supercup on 14 August.
The clash between the Bundesliga winners and league runners-up will take place at Dortmund’s 81,000-capacity SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, with both sides guaranteed to feature in the 16th edition of the official season opener courtesy of their achievements in the league and DFB Cup.
Bayern have qualified as champions while Dortmund are confirmed participants after finishing second and reaching the DFB Cup final where the two sides will also go head-to-head on 21 May.
VfL Wolfsburg won the 2015 edition of the Supercup after a penalty shoot-out victory over Bayern. The Bavarians are set to be involved for the tenth time, making them the record participants ahead of Dortmund (seven).
