Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach are the favorites to secure European football next season - at least according to the Twitter followers of the Bundesliga's official channels.

With Hertha Berlin tipped to finish third, the two teams from the Rhineland are backed to be the best of the rest. After the polls closed on @bundesliga_de and @bundesliga_EN, 35 per cent of the total participants felt that Leverkusen would, at the very least, qualify for next season's Europea League. Gladbach won 31 per cent of the vote.

If only votes cast on @bundesliga_EN were counted, then Die Werkself would have topped the poll with 39 per cent of the vote, some 14 percentage points more than Gladbach. Leverkusen are currently sixth in the table, one place behind Gladbach on goal difference.
