Goal machine Kraft

Hertha Berlin keeper Thomas Kraft made an impact in a friendly against regional outfit Club Italia 80 -  but not between the sticks. Hertha coach Pal Dardai put Kraft on at right-back during the 12-0 rout of Thomas Hassler’s side, with the keeper coolly converting one from the penalty spot.

Götze in Bayern’s Champions League squad

FC Bayern Munchen have named Felix Götze, the younger brother of departed midfielder Mario, in their squad for the upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign. The 18-year-old defender has yet to play in Bayern’s senior side, but with Uefa’s rules allowing clubs to select players born after 1 January 1995 in addition to their 25-man squads, Götze junior makes the cut.

Felix Götze is still with Bayern Munich, but brother Mario returned to Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Guilavogui targets October comeback

Joshua Guilavogui hope to be back in action for Vfl Wolfsburg next month despite suffering a neck injury during the summer. The 25-year-old broke a bone in a vertebrae during a pre-season game against Sporting Lisbon in July, but he told his club’s website, “If everything goes well, I can play again in October.”
