Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern München lead the charge from Germany’s top flight with six nominees: Manuel Neuer, David Alaba, Jerome Boateng, Arturo Vidal, Thomas Müller and Robert Lewandowski.

Elsewhere, Bayer 04 Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu’s impressive displays in 2015 have earned him a place on the prestigious shortlist. The Turkey international has caught the eye so far this season; he has scored two Bundesliga goals and added a further two in the Champions League.

VfL Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez completes the Germany-based contingent. The left-back helped his side to the quarter-finals of last season’s UEFA Europa League and has made a solid start to his debut campaign in the Champions League.
