"He came to me today to say he wanted to stay at Hertha for another to years," Hertha sporting director Michael Preetz said at the capital club's annual general meeting on Monday. "The entire package is spot-on."

Former TSG 1899 Hoffenheim striker Ibisevic, who joined Hertha on a free transfer from VfB Stuttgart in summer 2015, recently became the sixth non-German player to reach 100 Bundesliga goals with a brace in the 2-1 win over 1. FSV Mainz 05.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international currently sits third in the 2016/17 scoring charts on eight goals for the season.
