FC Augsburg centre-back Ragnar Klavan has been voted Estonian Player of the Year for 2015, the third time he has won the award following triumphs in 2012 and 2014.

“I’m delighted to have won again and I view this prize as confirmation of my good performances with Augsburg and the national team,” the Estonia captain told Augsburg’s official website. “However, in order to play well you need a good team behind you, because you can’t do it all by yourself. I’d also like to give huge thanks to my family, who have always supported me.”

The award ceremony took place in Estonia on Sunday, but Klavan was unable to attend due to his club commitments. The 30-year-old did, however, send a video message back to his homeland thanking his fans for their support.
