Alongside regulars Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Bobby Wood (Hamburger SV), John Anthony Brooks (Hertha Berlin) and Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), FC Bayern München striker Julian Green retained his place in the ensemble after finding the net during the last international break, as well as scoring in Bayern's 3-1 DFB Cup win over FC Augsburg on 26 October.

Furthermore, there were recalls for SV Werder Bremen Aron Johannsson following his long struggle with injury, and Eintracht Frankfurt defender Timothy Chandler, who has been in excellent form for the Eagles.

Speaking as he announced his squad during a live Facebook event, Klinsmann said of Chandler: "He's having a very good season so far. He's almost been playing as a winger in a 3-5-2 system for Frankfurt, so he deserves his place here."

In an intriguing added layer to the USA's match against Mexico, which will take place on 11 November, Chandler will go up against his Frankfurt team-mate Marco Fabian. Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez will also be in the Mexico line-up.
