Mario Götze set to return to Borussia Dortmund training on Friday

Mario Götze will return to training with Borussia Dortmund on Friday, the player has confirmed on his official Facebook page.

Götze was sidelined due to metabolic disturbances in late February, and has been out of action undergoing an intensive rehabilitation programme since.

The FIFA World Cup winner confirmed on Thursday that the treatment was "successful" and that he will be able to "begin training with the team soon."

That is expected to be on Friday, when BVB's pre-season training begins under new coach Peter Bosz with the traditional preliminary tests.
