Cologne - 1. FC Köln have completed the signing of Danish centre-back Frederik Sörensen from Italian champions Juventus FC.

'A lot of potential'

The 23-year-old, who has spent the last three seasons out on loan at FC Bologna (2012/13 and 2013/14) and Hellas Verona (2014/15), has inked a four-year deal.

"It was no secret that we were looking to bring in a centre-back," explained Köln head coach Peter Stöger. "I think we've done a great job of that with Frederik Sörensen. He brings a lot of potential to the side and can help us right away."

Former Denmark Under-21 international Sörensen, for his part, was no less delighted: "1. FC Köln are an interesting club and their progress has impressed me. Of course 1. FC Köln are known in Denmark and in Italy, so I'm very happy to become part of this traditional club."
