James Rodriguez plotting more trophies with Bayern after first Bundesliga triumph
James Rodriguez has his heart set on winning more silverware with Bayern Munich after playing a starring role in the Bavarians’ 27th – and his own first – Bundesliga title triumph.
Bayern lifted their sixth successive Meisterschale on Saturday, with James scoring one and providing another – for Arjen Robben – as Jupp Heynckes’ men sailed past Augsburg 4-1 at the WWK Arena.
With Bayern still in contention for the UEFA Champions League and DFB Cup, Colombia stalwart James thinks Bayern’s work is still far from finished this season.

“I’m happy, it’s another title,” said the midfielder when bundesliga.com spoke to him at pitch-side following the latest win. “To be honest I’m very happy with this and I hope I can win more trophies. In the end this is what you’re working towards.”
James has been central to Bayern’s successful title defence. Sixth following the 26-year-old’s debut – a 2-0 loss to Hoffenheim on Matchday 3 – James has since chipped in with six goals and 10 assists.
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently described him as a “very, very good transfer.” If James lifts yet more silverware he could render that the understatement of the year, if he hasn’t already done so.
