The 22-year-old product of Feyenoord’s youth academy has signed a long-term deal with the capital club.

Having spent the majority of his youth at Feyenoord in Holland, spells at Manchester City and a successful two-year loan at PSV Eindhoven – in which he was part of the Eredivise title-winning team in 2014/15 - led Rekik to joining French giants Marseille in 2015.

The versatile defender played mostly at left-back in his time in France, but also in the centre of defence. He made 48 appearances and scored one goal during his time with Marseille

Rekik becomes Hertha's third signing of an already busy summer, following the arrivals of Davie Selke and Mathew Leckie at the Olympiastadion.

His time at PSV also earned him a call up to the Dutch national team, where he made his one and only appearance until now, in a 2014 friendly against France.
